Job description

This position requires approximately 60% travel across Northeast, with the majority of work performed during overnight hours. Flexibility to work varying schedules (days/nights) is required.

POSITION SUMMARY

Install, configure, and support building controls, electrical systems, and commercial refrigeration energy management systems for supermarket new builds, remodels, and retrofit projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As an HVAC/R Controls Installer, you will:

  • Design and implement refrigeration control strategies for large supermarket clients

  • Install, program, and troubleshoot energy management and refrigeration control systems, including:

    • EIL systems

    • Danfoss 255/880 controllers

    • CPC Reflecs

    • Emerson Einstein, E2, and Comtrol controllers

  • Perform mechanical and electrical repairs, programming, and retrofits on:

    • Large parallel rack systems

    • Glycol and CO secondary cooling systems

    • Commercial HVAC units

  • Install and program case controllers (Danfoss, Emerson, Dixell)

  • Install, set up, and troubleshoot:

    • Electronic TXVs and EPR valves

    • Chiller controllers

    • Anti-sweat panels

    • Subcooler controls

    • Digital compressor controls

  • Program and troubleshoot additional refrigeration and HVAC controls, including:

    • Carel, RDM, Microthermal, Sporlan

    • Lennox Prodigy, AAON, Tridium

  • Install, program, and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), including Danfoss and ABB

  • Program lighting controls and scheduling

  • Install, program, and troubleshoot Bacharach HGM leak detection systems

  • Develop and implement custom control logic to meet customer-specific requirements

  • Set up remote internet access and alarm notifications for refrigeration and HVAC systems

  • Conduct store surveys and develop detailed scopes of work

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid Driver's License

  • OSHA-30 certification (will enroll as part of orientation if not certified)

  • Solid mechanical and electrical expertise

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

  • Flexibility to travel (~60%) and work variable schedules, including nights

  • Experience installing building automation or control systems in commercial environments preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics

  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience
