Job description

At Superior Sales & Service, we design and manufacture specialized railroad equipment used around the world. We're looking for a seasoned Mechanical Engineer to take the lead in designing innovative mobile hydraulic systems in a hands-on, senior-level role that blends creativity with technical precision.
What You’ll Do

  • Lead the design of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems for mobile equipment.
  • Oversee product installations and train production staff.
  • Provide direct support to manufacturing and fabrication teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex product issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to ensure quality and performance.
  • Approve technical drawings and specifications.
What You Must Have

This is not an entry-level position. Candidates without the required experience will not be considered.

  • Minimum 5 years of mechanical engineering experience in equipment design.
  • Expert-level SolidWorks skills — this is a core requirement.
  • Proven experience with hydraulic systems; familiarity with pneumatic and electrical controls.
  • Experience with components such as engines, pumps, motors, and valves.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Familiarity with control systems like Parker IQan, Hydac, or Danfoss Plus One is a plus.
