Position Overview
Rugs USA is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Digital Asset Manager to oversee the organization, governance, distribution, and lifecycle management of creative assets across the business. This role will be based out of our Cranbury, NJ photo studio and serve as the central steward of the company's Digital Asset Management (DAM) ecosystem. The DAM manager will work closely with our photo studio team daily to ensure assets are properly cataloged, accessible, compliant, and optimized for use across all channels.
Essential Job Functions
Digital Asset Management & Governance
  • Own and manage the company's Digital Asset Management (DAM) platform, ensuring assets are organized, searchable, and accessible to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Develop and maintain asset governance standards, metadata structures, taxonomy frameworks, naming conventions, and usage guidelines.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for asset ingestion, tagging, categorization, archiving, retention, and expiration.
  • Maintain data accuracy and consistency across all digital asset repositories.
  • Monitor asset usage rights, licensing agreements, and expiration dates to ensure compliance.

Asset Organization & Lifecycle Management
  • Oversee the complete lifecycle of digital assets from creation and ingestion through distribution, archival, and retirement.
  • Ensure all photography, video, product imagery, marketing collateral, brand assets, and creative deliverables are properly cataloged and maintained.
  • Develop workflows for asset version control, approvals, and asset updates.
  • Conduct regular audits of digital asset libraries to identify gaps, redundancies, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Manage asset migration projects, including system enhancements, DAM implementations, and library consolidations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Photo Studio, Creative, Marketing, eCommerce, Merchandising, Product Development, Marketplace, and Technology teams to support asset needs across the business.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for asset requests, distribution, and DAM-related support.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure assets meet channel-specific requirements for websites, marketplaces, paid media, social media, email, and print applications.
  • Train internal teams on DAM usage, asset management standards, and workflow best practices.

Process Development & Optimization
  • Develop, document, and continuously improve digital asset workflows and operational processes.
  • Identify opportunities to automate asset management tasks, metadata enrichment, and content distribution.
  • Create reporting and dashboards to track asset utilization, system adoption, metadata completeness, and operational efficiency.
  • Establish scalable workflows to support growing asset volumes and evolving business needs.
  • Partner with Technology and vendors to evaluate DAM enhancements, integrations, and future capabilities.

You Have
  • 3-5 years of experience in Digital Asset Management, Content Operations, Creative Operations, Library Sciences, Content Management, or a related field.
  • Experience managing Digital Asset Management (DAM) platforms such as Bynder, Brandfolder, Adobe Experience Manager, Canto, Widen, or similar systems.
  • Strong understanding of metadata standards, taxonomy development, asset governance, and digital content workflows.
  • Experience supporting creative, marketing, eCommerce, or brand teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to manage large volumes of digital assets with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience with project management and workflow tools such as Airtable, Asana, Monday.com, or similar platforms.
  • Experience in retail, home furnishings, lifestyle, consumer brands, or eCommerce is preferred.
  • Ability to be on-site at our Cranbury, NJ Photo studio at least 3 days a week

The pay range for this role is:
70,000 - 80,000 USD per year (RugsUSA Headquarters)
