We are looking for a procurement, materials, and supply chain/logistics expert. With your help, the team and the department will receive correct parts at the right place and time. With your ability to coordinate with our expanding supply-base, the team and management will be well-informed to the status surrounding orders and deliveries. The right person will understand and manage suppliers and the demanding project expectations while informing and appropriately escalating challenges in a timely and pro-active manner. With your positive and can-do attitude, you will bring our team and our projects together making our processes state of the art for other departments to follow.

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Develop relationships with engineering and program management within various departments of DTNA, Detroit Diesel, and development partners to understand technology developments, design changes and future business decisions within the global supply chain
  • Interface with suppliers, DTNA's Engineering, Launch & Change Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Accounting, International Trade Compliance (ITC) and Purchasing to ensure timely and accurate communications of specifications
  • Ensure suppliers have complete plans and strategies in place to achieve delivery targets and fulfill all order requirements
  • Advise and instruct component suppliers of company on-time delivery expectations
  • Procure relevant vehicle components and special orders
  • Manage reactive quality and delivery activities with suppliers including target controlling and escalation steps, as necessary
  • Report out "at risk" parts during truck build status meetings
  • Facilitate cross-border logistics
  • Work on cross-functional teams to deliver results and support process improvements

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • BA/BS and 0-2 years of relevant experience required or 4 years relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Proficient with procurement processes, documentation, and tracking
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Effective communication & organization skills

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Previous project management experience
  • Supply Chain experience, Business, or related discipline
  • Experience with order exception management and escalation
