What is a Dacut?

Dacut specialists are professionals who use the Dacut tool, an open-source software designed for the trimming and quality control of sequencing data, particularly long-read sequencing. Their primary role is to process raw DNA or RNA sequencing data by removing unwanted adaptors, primers, or low-quality segments, ensuring the data is clean and ready for downstream analysis. They work closely with bioinformaticians and researchers in genomics, transcriptomics, or related fields to support accurate and efficient data analysis. Mastery of Dacut and familiarity with sequencing workflows are essential for this role.
