Job description

Position:  Music Production Enrichment Instructor
Starting Rate: $35/hour
Schedule: Part-Time
Experience: 1-3 YearsPosition Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Music Production Enrichment Instructor to teach middle school students the fundamentals of music production, beat-making, recording, and digital audio. The ideal instructor will have hands-on experience with the students for full engagement. The instructor will create a positive, supportive learning environment where students can explore their creativity while developing practical music production skills.

Responsibilities
  • Teach middle school students the fundamentals of music production and audio engineering.

  • Introduce students to ARC and related music production tools and workflows.

  • Develop engaging, age-appropriate lessons in beat-making, songwriting, recording, sampling, and basic mixing.

  • Guide students through creating original beats, songs, and music projects.

  • Teach foundational concepts such as rhythm, melody, arrangement, sound design, and digital audio.

  • Provide hands-on instruction and individualized support based on students' skill levels.

  • Encourage creativity, collaboration, confidence, and musical self-expression.

  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Assist students in completing and presenting music projects.

  • Help maintain music production equipment, software, and classroom materials.

Qualifications
  • Experience in music production, beat-making, recording, or audio engineering.

  • Familiarity with ARC is strongly preferred.

  • Experience teaching, mentoring, coaching, or working with middle school students is preferred.

  • Proficiency with digital audio workstations (DAWs) and music production software.

  • Strong understanding of basic music theory and contemporary music production.

  • Ability to explain technical concepts in a clear, age-appropriate manner.

  • Creative, patient, dependable, and enthusiastic teaching style.

  • Ability to create a safe, respectful, and encouraging learning environment.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience producing original music or releasing music professionally.

  • Experience with MIDI, sampling, virtual instruments, recording, and mixing.

  • Experience with additional DAWs or production platforms.

  • Classroom, after-school program, youth music program, or educational experience.

  • Portfolio, demo reel, or examples of original music production.

Compensation & Schedule
  • Starting pay: $35/hour

  • Part-time position

  • Schedule to be determined based on program and instructor availability
