Job Duties

  • Coordinates (per scheduled workorders as assigned) with department supervisor building system equipment activities (to include but not limited to emergency light function, overhead lamp inspections, interior building HVAC filter changes, ductwork cleaning and exhaust fan motor lube/belt inspection/intake cleaning)
  • Coordinates (per workorders as assigned, or as requested otherwise) with department supervisor work of the facility maintenance (to include but not limited to painting, plumbing, carpentry and general maintenance services);
  • Utilize maintenance software (Manager +) program for prioritizing, tracking and completing workorders;
  • Assist in the removal of waste for facility, i.e., municipal waste, scrap metals, universal waste (e.g. lightbulbs), hazardous and non-hazardous waste (e.g. solvents, waste coatings, filters, oily wastewater) – maintain annual RCRA training for hazardous waste handling/shipping;
  • Utilize company purchase requisition/order process to procure needed supplies;
  • Coordinates with department supervisor support of third-party contractor activities as assigned; • Responsible for maintaining company property as assigned;
  • Maintain log and tracking of company assigned keys;
  • Assist with the coordination of employee uniform collection and distribution;
  • Secures pre-approved estimates and cost quotes for building maintenance as requested;
  • Ensure that federal, state and local laws, regulations, rules and codes are observed;
  • Adhere to Employee’s responsibilities outlined in Cygnus’ Quality, Health & Safety procedures;

Required Experience/Credentials

  • 3-5 years maintenance experience, prior supervisory experience preferred;
  • Awareness of environmental regulations,
  • Must maintain knowledge of RCRA Hazardous Waste Management;
  • Painting, plumbing, and carpentry experience required;
  • HVAC and Electrical experience preferred;
  • Good decision making and problem-solving skills with the ability to act proactively and handle pressure and deadlines is a must;
  • Must be able to operate powered industrial trucks;
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time and safely lift and carry approximately 60 pounds according to proper safety standards;
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing shop environment (including hot, cold and/or noisy areas);
  • Frequent hand to finger, handle, feel objects & tools, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking and hearing;
  • Physically submit to periodic drug tests (employment is contingent upon favorable results;
