Whether you aim to boost your team's defensive capabilities or advance your personal cybersecurity expertise, the BSU Cyber Range offers a dynamic and immersive learning experience.
Position Summary
The Cyber Range Operations and Events Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day administration, event management, and operational oversight of the Bridgewater State University Cyber Range. This individual will play a key role in establishing and executing Cyber Range operations and programming. In collaboration with the Dean of the College of Continuing Studies, the Director of Professional, Corporate & Community Education, the Cyber Range Business Development Consultant, academic leadership, and the Vice President of Information Technology, this position ensures the Cyber Range is effectively utilized for education, training, outreach, and community engagement.
This role focuses on planning and managing events, workforce courses, and custom cyber security programs. Responsibilities include coordinating logistics, developing marketing and ensuring high-quality experience for all Cyber Range users. Occasional evening and weekend availability is required. As the employee demonstrates the ability to work independently, flexible scheduling and possible hybrid work arrangements may be considered.
This is a full-time, grant-funded position through fiscal year 2027 (ending June 30, 2027). An extension beyond this date is expected; however, continuation is dependent on the availability of future grant funding and program-generated revenue.
Essential Duties
1. Serve as the primary point of contact for all Cyber Range events, activities, and user inquiries.
2. Manage daily operations including event scheduling (courses, trainings, external and internal groups), logistics, invoicing, billing, accounts receivable, tracking range usage, and administration of maintenance and service contracts.
3. Collaborate with internal and external partners to design and deliver a portfolio of Cyber Range services-tailored to nonprofits, businesses, municipalities, military organizations, and higher education institutions-including planning, coordinating, and hosting in-person and virtual events such as tours, demonstrations, competitions, professional development programs, and promotional activities.
4. Assist with marketing efforts for Cyber Range programming, including creating marketing plans, managing direct email outreach, producing graphic materials and flyers, and supporting social media and digital promotion.
5. Provide day of event operational support, including assistance with A/V, room setup, attendee management, speaker support, and troubleshooting non-technical logistics.
6. Support the financial and administrative operations of the Cyber Range, including preparing and processing invoices, tracking accounts receivable, creating requisitions and purchase orders, coordinating payments to external consultants, and maintaining related financial records.
7. Support the Director in collecting and organizing data for Cyber Range reports, dashboards, and summaries related to activity, metrics, outcomes, and growth.
8. Work with university partners, community organizations, and industry stakeholders to expand outreach to underserved communities and broaden participation in cybersecurity related education and workforce development.
9. Represent the Cyber Range at conferences, campus and community events, industry meetings, and professional forums to promote awareness and engagement.
10. Collaborate with BSU faculty and students to support cybersecurity teaching, learning, and engagement, including facilitating Cyber Range access for classes, student organizations, research projects, cyber competitions, and career exploration activities.
11. Perform additional responsibilities as directed and in collaboration with the Director of Corporate, Professional, and Community Education, the Cyber Range Business Development Consultant, the Dean of the College of Continuing Studies, and the Chief Information Officer.
Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree.
2. Minimum of three years of professional experience in event management, program coordination, marketing, communications, or related fields.
3. Demonstrated experience creating marketing plans, producing promotional materials, and managing digital or direct email marketing.
4. Experience with event scheduling systems, HubSpot, Canva, Microsoft Office Suite, and Zoom.
5. Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
6. Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
7. Adaptability and the ability to learn and adopt new technologies as they emerge.
8. Ability to work collaboratively and collegially as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience in or demonstrable ability to learn about information technology or cybersecurity workforce development.
2. Experience in general workforce development or corporate training.
3. Experience with procurement and financial systems (e.g., Jaggaer), including requisitions, purchase orders, vendor setup, and payment processing.
4. Experience collaborating with community, municipal, or industry partners.
5. Graphic design or digital media experience.
6. Knowledge of higher education principles, practices, and procedures.
