This position reports to:
Growth Segments Business Manager
In this role, the Project Manager will have the opportunity to lead the execution of medium-size and/or complex to large projects for Automation Energy Customers and ensure that all related activities are performed in accordance with ABB policy, relevant cybersecurity regulations and standards, contractual agreements, quality standards, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements, financial targets, and schedule commitments.
You will also support (when required) the local management in overseeing team development and process improvement to continually increase the effectiveness of project execution, especially in smaller units, and take accountability (when required) for a portfolio of projects.
The work model for the role is : #LI-Hybrid in Houston, TX. This role is contributing to the Process Automation, Energy Industries division in Houston, TX.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
  • Leads the project team, establishes the project execution approach, oversees project hand-over, execution planning, and monitoring and control activities for internal and external resources to accomplish all project goals.
  • Managing the development of project planning documents
  • Monitoring projects to ensure best practices in cost control, resource efficiency and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
  • Analyzing and addressing project risks, and regularly disseminating lessons learned
  • Working with other functions to coordinate contract negotiations and claims with customers
  • Achieving project deliverables and compliance with contract requirements
  • Building strong relationships with customers and stakeholders
  • Provides performance feedback for the resources allocated to projects.

Qualifications for the Role:
  • Bachelor's in Engineering (Electrical preferred, or similar discipline); will consider equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience; background in electrical strongly preferred
  • Strong Project Management background and skills
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Strong drive for world-class quality
  • Ability to independently work
  • ABB PM Level 2 or Level 3 certification, or equivalent (PMPยฎ, IPMA, PRINCE2ยฎ), preferred
  • Authorized to work in the United States permanently without sponsorship
