Job description

The Amazon Cyber Threat Intelligence (ACTI) organization is responsible for investigating, analyzing, and defending against sophisticated cyber threats targeting Amazon's global businesses and customers. ACTI combines technical expertise, strategic analysis, and advanced tooling to identify emerging threats, track adversary activities, and provide actionable intelligence across Amazon's security ecosystem.
As a Senior Intelligence Analyst within ACTI, you will architect and lead the creation of professional finished intelligence products that leverage ACTI's unique technical insights as well as other sources. You will utilize your extensive cyber threat intelligence knowledge to extract novel insights, trends, and themes from the output of ACTI technical processes and engineers. You will present your findings across a broad array of internal stakeholders, including Amazon Security executives and the leadership of ACTI and other security teams. Your technical and written leadership will drive ACTI's products and reporting program forward as you develop new product lines, find better ways to get actionable intelligence to internal customers, and gather customer feedback to inform future reporting.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen.
Key job responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis of potential cyber threats to Amazon, AWS, subsidiaries, and their customers
- Collect, manipulate, and analyze data from multiple sources and assess this information to identify security threats and develop recommendations and reporting accordingly
- Prepare written reports and presentations based on your research, collection, and analysis of intelligence data
- Prepare and present oral and written reports on the conclusions and recommendations drawn from your research
- Lead and participate in collaborative working groups and other initiatives
A day in the life
As a Senior Intelligence Analyst on ACTI, your day might start by reviewing overnight threat actor activity flagged by our automated triage systems, then pivoting into drafting a finished intelligence assessment on an emerging campaign targeting AWS customers. Mid-morning you collaborate with partner intelligence teams on products. After lunch you collaborate with engineers to refine an AI-powered analytical workflow, then spend the afternoon developing a new product line based on customer feedback. You close the day by mentoring other analysts on analytic tradecraft and reviewing their draft report before publication. No two days look the same, but every day produces intelligence that protects millions of customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 5 Years of relevant analytic experience working in cyber threat intelligence
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Experience with open-source intelligence (OSINT) sources and methods
- Experience working in collaborative environments, while demonstrating strong verbal communication and presentation skills. Experience producing professional, well-written documentation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's Degree in a relevant field (including Computer Science, National Security Studies, or other areas)
- Completion of US Federal Law Enforcement or Intelligence Community advanced analytic writing and reviewing courses
- Experience drafting intelligence products following analytic tradecraft standards and style guides
- Experience with project planning, coordination, and execution

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
