Job Description: Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a qualified and motivated Cybersecurity Information System Security Officer (ISSO) Level 3 to support a mission-critical DoD program. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a skilled team of professionals dedicated to cybersecurity excellence and national defense.As an ISSO, you will apply and manage IT security controls to safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of DoD systems and data. Your work will ensure alignment with existing hardware and software configurations, while maintaining coordination with system and network configuration managers.In this role, you will support the Risk Management Framework (RMF) life cycle-spanning assessment, authorization, sustainment, and system disposition. You'll collaborate with Certified Defense Contractors to maintain continuous monitoring and meet change management requirements. Coordination with the Security Control Assessor (SCA) and Authorizing Official Designated Representative (AODR) will be essential for obtaining and maintaining security approvals.Additional responsibilities include routine ISSO functions such as account management, auditing, and vulnerability scanning. You will also serve as a cybersecurity subject matter expert, advising civilian and military personnel, supporting compliance initiatives, and contributing to inspection and audit readiness.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ISSO to apply both technical knowledge and strategic insight in a collaborative, mission-focused environment. Responsibilities Skills / Experience Required
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (TS/SCI)
  • Must be willing and able to submit to a Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph
  • 10+ years of relevant Department of Defense (DoD) experience
  • 4+ years of SAP and/or SCI environment experience within the last 5 years
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support program
  • Subject Matter Expert in Risk Management Framework (RMF), Cyber Engineering, and Project Management
  • Thrives in dynamic environments with diverse, goal-driven teams
  • Provides strategic insights to senior leadership to drive mission success
  • Communicates complex concepts clearly and concisely
  • Anticipates and prevents potential issues with a proactive approach
  • Strong written and verbal communication and detail-oriented
  • Skilled in critical thinking, problem-solving, and organization
Education / Certifications
  • MA/MS/ME in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, MIS, or related degree
  • Relevant work experience/training certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 1+ year of experience using Risk Management Framework (RMF) IT security controls and policies
  • DoD 8140/DoD 8570 IASAE Level II Certification
  • Security Professional Education Development (SPēD) Certification Program

Security Clearance
