Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Business Development Representative (BDR) – Managed Services serves as the liaison between Marketing and the Managed Services Sales team. This role is responsible for identifying and creating new business opportunities for Brite’s managed IT services and cybersecurity offerings by contacting and developing relationships with prospective customers generated through marketing campaigns, outbound prospecting, cold calling, and emailing. The BDR helps qualify prospects by understanding their current IT environment, pain points, and security needs, then schedules discovery meetings for the appropriate Account Executive.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads as potential opportunities for managed IT services, help desk, network management, cybersecurity, backup/DR, and strategic consulting (vCIO/vCISO).
  • Contact prospective customers via cold calls, emails, and social outreach to generate meetings and pipeline.
  • Communicate Brite’s Managed Services value proposition, including proactive support, 24/7 monitoring, cybersecurity protection, and reduced downtime.
  • Ask thoughtful, probing questions to identify a prospect’s needs, including areas such as: Current IT support model (internal IT, MSP, hybrid) Pain points (ticket volume, downtime, slow response times) Cybersecurity posture (MFA, endpoint protection, awareness training) Business continuity (backup coverage, disaster recovery readiness) Compliance/cyber insurance concerns.
  • Maintain accurate notes and activity tracking in NetSuite (CRM) and related sales tools.
  • Build longterm, trusted relationships with prospects through consistent followup and nurturing.
  • Schedule qualified discovery calls/meetings between prospects and Account Executives, and ensure meeting preparation is complete (context, notes, identified needs).
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing on campaign followup, messaging, and feedback loops to improve lead quality and conversion.
  • OTHER DUTIES PERFORMED
  • Perform other duties and tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
  • EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) or an equivalent combination of related work experience, training and/or education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Prior experience as a Business Development Representative / Sales Development Representative (or similar role) with handson experience in outbound prospecting (cold calls, email campaigns) and a proven track record of achieving quotas is required.
  • Experience selling or supporting IT services, managed services (MSP), cybersecurity, SaaS, or technology solutions is preferred.
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite and NetSuite (CRM) (or similar CRM tools).
  • Comfort discussing foundational IT and cybersecurity concepts (e.g., Microsoft 365, MFA, endpoint protection, backups, phishing, firewall, patching).
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics (activity, conversion rates, pipeline, meetings set).
  • Excellent listening skills with the ability to uncover pain points and business drivers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to tailor messaging by audience.
  • Strong presentation and objectionhandling skills.
  • Highly organized and detailoriented; able to manage multiple sequences, campaigns, and deadlines.
  • Effective project/time management skills; able to work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Strong relationshipbuilding skills and a professional, customerfirst approach.
  • Selfdirected, resultsoriented, and comfortable working toward weekly/monthly goals.
