Cybersecurity Engineer (Secret Clearance)

We specialize in providing management and technology consulting services to support the business and technology modernization efforts of the Federal Government. ThinkTek was formed with the specific purpose of providing its clients a tailored solution around Program & Project Management, Strategic Planning, and IT Operations.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to support a Federal Government customer by providing advanced cybersecurity engineering, assessment, and compliance support. The ideal candidate has extensive experience securing enterprise environments, conducting cybersecurity assessments, implementing Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions, and ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity requirements throughout the system lifecycle.
This position requires a highly skilled cybersecurity professional with strong technical expertise, project management experience, and an active Secret security clearance.
Responsibilities
  • Engineer, implement, and maintain cybersecurity solutions that protect enterprise systems and data.
  • Analyze system architectures and define cybersecurity requirements throughout the system development lifecycle.
  • Perform cybersecurity assessments, vulnerability analysis, and security testing.
  • Conduct vulnerability scanning and support remediation efforts.
  • Support Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) activities.
  • Develop and maintain cybersecurity documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), security procedures, and assessment artifacts.
  • Support Identity and Access Management (IAM) initiatives, including access controls, authentication, authorization, and account management.
  • Collaborate with system owners, engineers, and government stakeholders to ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity policies and standards.
  • Provide technical guidance on risk management, vulnerability mitigation, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Track cybersecurity project milestones and coordinate activities across technical teams.
  • Support audits, inspections, and continuous monitoring efforts.
  • Stay current on emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, and federal security requirements.

Required Qualifications
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related technical field from an accredited college or university.
  • Twelve (12) years of overall Information Technology experience.
  • Ten (10) years of Government cybersecurity experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with:
    • Security requirements definition
    • Systems analysis
    • Cybersecurity Test and Evaluation (ST&E)
    • Vulnerability assessment and security scanning
  • Experience implementing and supporting Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions.
  • Strong understanding of NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), cybersecurity engineering principles, and federal security compliance requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

Required Certifications
Candidates must possess:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • One DoD 8570/8140 IAM Level III certification, such as:
    • CASP+ CE
    • CCNP Security
    • CISA
    • CISSP
    • GCED
    • GCIH
    • CCSP

Pay Range
The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $150,030 - $185,020. This range is a good-faith estimate and not a guarantee of compensation. Final compensation will be based on factors including experience, education, skills, geographic location, internal equity, market data, and applicable contract requirements, and may fall outside the posted range.
