Job description

Cybersecurity Awareness Specialist  

Job Summary 

The Cybersecurity Awareness Specialist plays a critical role in advancing Securitas North America's cybersecurity culture and human risk management program. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with direct experience using KnowBe4 (or similar platforms) who can effectively execute social engineering campaigns and transform results into meaningful insights using Excel-based analysis

Working under the direction of the Manager, Cybersecurity Culture & Human Risk Management, you will lead the execution of phishing simulations, analyze behavioral trends, and help drive measurable improvements in user awareness and risk reduction. 

This is a remote position. 

Key Responsibilities 

Social Engineering Campaign Execution (Primary Focus) 

  • Execute end-to-end phishing and social engineering campaigns using KnowBe4 and other approved platforms 
  • Design and deploy multi-channel simulations, including:  
  • Phishing (email) 
  • Smishing (SMS) 
  • Vishing (voice) 
  • Configure campaigns, including targeting, scheduling, and automated training assignments 
  • Leverage advanced KnowBe4 functionality such as:  
  • Smart Groups 
  • Automated campaigns 
  • Risk scoring and reporting dashboards 
  • Monitor campaign effectiveness and recommend optimizations based on user behavior 
  • Maintain accurate documentation of campaigns and results 

Data Analysis & Reporting (Excel-Driven) 

  • Analyze phishing and training data using advanced Excel techniques 
  • Build and maintain:  
  • Pivot tables 
  • Reports and dashboards 
  • Trend analyses across campaigns and user groups 
  • Track and report on key metrics, including:  
  • Click-through rates 
  • Report rates 
  • Repeat susceptibility 
  • Training completion 
  • Identify patterns and translate data into actionable insights for leadership 
  • Support recurring reporting (monthly/quarterly) with clear, data-driven summaries 

Cybersecurity Awareness & Training Support 

  • Support administration of security awareness training programs 
  • Assist in developing targeted awareness content based on campaign insights 
  • Help deliver engaging, behavior-focused awareness initiatives 
  • Coordinate communications, campaigns, and internal awareness efforts 

Incident & Behavioral Insights 

  • Review reported phishing emails and user submissions 
  • Identify trends, repeat behaviors, and potential risk areas 
  • Provide recommendations for improving user resilience and reducing human risk 
  • Maintain records aligned with audit and compliance requirements  

Collaboration 

  • Partner with the Manager, Cybersecurity Culture & Human Risk Management 
  • Work cross-functionally with IT, Security, HR, and Communications teams 
  • Support awareness initiatives across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico 

Minimum Qualifications 

Education / Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information technology, communications, or related field  OR equivalent practical experience 
  • 1-3 years of experience in cybersecurity, awareness, compliance, or human risk management 

Required Technical Experience 

  • Hands-on experience with KnowBe4 or similar phishing/simulation platforms 
  • Demonstrated ability to execute phishing and social engineering campaigns 
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:  
  • Pivot tables 
  • V-lookups 
  • Data analysis and reporting 
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting user behavior or awareness metrics 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience supporting security awareness or human risk management programs 
  • Familiarity with:  
  • Microsoft Defender 
  • Microsoft 365 tools 
  • Relevant certifications such as:  
  • SANS Security Awareness Professional (SSAP)

  • Ability to make training recommendations based off of data 
  • Ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines in a remote environment
