Cybersecurity & Privacy Junior Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking a Cybersecurity & Privacy Junior Associate Attorney to join a highly regarded Am Law 100 firm in Washington, D.C.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney with 2–3 years of experience to join a nationally recognized Cybersecurity & Privacy practice within a premier Litigation & Trial group. The role offers exposure to sophisticated cybersecurity incidents, data breach response, privacy counseling, and high-stakes crisis management matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise clients on cybersecurity incidents, data breach investigations, and incident response.

  • Assist with privacy compliance matters and emerging cybersecurity regulations.

  • Support clients through all phases of breach response, including forensic investigations, regulatory notifications, and risk mitigation.

  • Counsel clients on crisis management strategies related to cybersecurity and data privacy events.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide practical legal and business solutions for complex cyber and privacy matters.

Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.

  • Active Bar membership in good standing.

  • 2–3 years of experience in cybersecurity, data privacy, breach response, incident investigations, or related litigation.

  • Experience advising clients on cybersecurity incidents and privacy matters is strongly preferred.

  • Background or experience in information security, computer science, or other technical disciplines is a plus.

  • Strong analytical, research, drafting, and communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
