SAIC is seeking a Senior Cyber Capabilities Developer in Colorado Springs, CO with hands-on Python development expertise who desires to have a role that truly matters, supporting the nation’s most strategic missions. In this role, you will develop software for advanced capabilities to provide America’s warfighters with the ability to gain and sustain a strategic edge in a dynamic, evolving threat landscape.

As a Senior Cyber Capabilities Developer, you will design and develop Python-based cyber tools that enhance operational readiness and provide mission-critical capabilities for national defense. You’ll take on sophisticated challenges, developing software that directly contributes to high-level mission success.

This is a unique opportunity to put your technical expertise to work creating innovative solutions that have a strategic impact. Collaborate with top-tier cyber professionals, resolve complex technical issues, and enable critical military operations to dominate in contested environments.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Python-based software solutions to deliver essential capabilities for America’s warfighters
  • Write efficient code to support classified missions in dynamic, mission-critical environments
  • Perform testing, debugging, and tool optimization to ensure compliance with program standards
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to implement requirements into cyber tool development
  • Contribute development inputs to GitLab task tracking and Agile processes to enable efficient workflows and achieve goals
  • Document software development activities, including user guides, technical documentation, and test reports, to support operational deployments

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in software and secure system development
  • Active Top-Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility is required
  • Python programming skills with hands-on coding experience 
  • Familiarity with GitLab and other modern development tools
  • Knowledge of DoD/DoW architectures and cyber operational constraints

Education

  • TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more related experience OR years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree. 

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of advanced cyber operation techniques, development frameworks, and cloud architecture
  • Proven history of delivering custom technical solutions that meet mission-critical requirements in operational environments
  • Experience with Linux package management and distribution tools, such as those used in Debian or Rocky Linux environments
  • Experience with cyber tool development and deployment in cloud environments
  • Proven success in developing custom solutions for use in high-security operational environments
  • Experience creating documentation, presenting solutions to stakeholders, and collaborating with teammates to develop technical solutions
