CVT stands for Certified Veterinary Technician. CVTs are trained and credentialed professionals who assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals. Their duties include performing laboratory tests, preparing animals for surgery, administering medications, and assisting in diagnostic procedures. To become a CVT, individuals must complete an accredited veterinary technology program and pass a national certification exam. CVTs play a crucial role in animal healthcare teams, ensuring that pets receive high-quality medical attention.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a cardiovascular technologist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Cardiovascular Technologist, you need a strong background in anatomy, physiology, and cardiovascular procedures, typically supported by an associate degree in cardiovascular technology or a related field and relevant certification such as RCIS or RCS. Familiarity with diagnostic imaging equipment, EKG machines, and patient monitoring systems is essential. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are valuable soft skills in this role. These competencies ensure accurate diagnostic testing, patient safety, and effective teamwork in high-stakes clinical environments.

Balancing administrative duties with hands-on patient care can also be demanding. However, strong teamwork, clear communication, and effective organization help CVTs navigate these challenges while providing high-quality care to animals.

  • A Fur-ever Home Feeling: A welcoming, supportive culture where people-and their pets-truly belong.

  • Weekend Team Lunch: Free lunch provided for clinic teams on weekends.
  • Stocked Bathrooms: Thoughtful essentials like pads, tampons, deodorant, hair ties, and other toiletries available when you need them.

  • Emergency triage and response
  • Detailed medical record keeping
  • Run appointments alongside assistants
You'll collaborate with veterinarians and nurses across the region, participate in monthly educational events, and use innovative technology - including AI-assisted tools and the Apple Vision Pro - that reduce administrative burden and enhance patient care.
What We're Looking For
  • 1+ year experience as a veterinary technician
  • Newly licensed technicians encouraged to apply
  • CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT preferred
