Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Vascular/Echocardiography from an accredited institution or on-the-job training with an Associate's degree in Allied Health.
- Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or ARDMS registered cardiac sonographer or registry eligible.
- CPR certification required.
- One to two years of experience as an echocardiography technician preferred, including 2-D echo with M-Mode, spectral, and color flow doppler, transesophageal echocardiography, and stress echocardiography.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures to locate, evaluate, and record pertinent anatomical, pathological, and functional data for diagnosis.
- Conduct cardiovascular diagnostic tests such as EKGs, Event Monitor applications, Cardiac Monitor applications, and Stress Testing.
- Record procedure data in patient charts and inform physicians of critical test results.
- Ensure cleaning and disinfecting of echocardiography equipment and accessories.
- Assist in clerical duties, including supply inventory and patient transport.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and staff training as needed.
Compliance / Notes
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines in the management of all patient information.
- Maintain a neat and safe work area.
