CVS Media Exchange (CMX) is hiring a Retail Media Advertising Technology Director, reporting to the Executive Director, Client Success.

In this role, you will lead multiple operational teams across Ad Operations, Support Operations, and Tech Operations for CMX's advertising ecosystem. You will directly manage an Ad Operations team responsible for managed service campaign execution and a Support Operations team focused on self‑service advertiser enablement and support.

As a seasoned ad technology and operations leader, you will drive operational efficiency, platform stability, and scalable execution across CMX's managed service and self‑service offerings. You will operate as a player‑coach, building, developing, and scaling high‑performing teams while partnering closely with CMX Product, Partnerships, Media Planning, and CVS Digital.

Responsibilities include but not limited to: 1. Ad Operations (Managed Service Execution)
  • Lead and manage the Ad Operations team responsible for managed service campaigns, overseeing campaign setup, trafficking, QA, and launch across CMX ad platforms.
  • Establish and enforce trafficking, QA, and launch readiness standards to ensure accuracy, compliance, and on‑time delivery.
  • Own operational processes for campaign updates, including creative swaps, mid‑flight optimizations, and issue resolution.
  • Develop capacity planning and workflow models to scale managed service execution in alignment with revenue growth.
  • Partner closely with Activation and Sales teams to ensure smooth handoffs and consistent execution against campaign objectives.
2. Support Operations (Self‑Service Enablement & Advertiser Support)
  • Lead and manage the Support Operations team responsible for self‑service advertiser enablement and ongoing support.
  • Own end‑to‑end self‑service advertiser onboarding, platform readiness, launch support, and post‑launch troubleshooting.
  • Establish and oversee support operations, including ticket intake, triage, escalation paths, and SLA management.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for advertiser, agency, and partner issues related to self‑service platforms.
  • Develop scalable documentation, training materials, and enablement resources for internal teams and external customers.
  • Continuously improve support workflows, tooling, and knowledge management to increase efficiency and advertiser satisfaction.
3. Tech Operations (Ad Tech Platforms & Readiness)
  • Lead Tech Operations for CMX's ad technology stack, including Google Ad Manager and other internal and third‑party platforms.
  • Own technical ad integrations, tagging strategy, and operational readiness for new products, formats, and channels.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to test new releases, validate functionality, and ensure operational launch readiness.
  • Oversee platform administration, configuration, governance, and access management.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate platform risks, performance issues, and operational dependencies that could impact scale or revenue.
  • Own processes and partnerships related to brand safety, ad tagging governance, and data aggregation.
Required:
  • 8+ years of experience in Ad Operations, Ad Technology, Media Operations, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience with Google Ad Manager
  • 3+ years partnering closely with Product and Engineering teams
  • 2+ years managing ticketing / issue management systems
  • 2+ years experience with CMS platforms
  • 1+ year experience working with search APIs or search platforms
  • 2+ years directly managing and scaling operational teams
Preferred
  • Experience supporting Retail Media Networks
  • Experience with Video, CTV, Audio, and DOOH advertising
  • Familiarity with both managed service and self‑service advertising models
  • Highly detail‑oriented self‑starter with strong ownership mentality
  • Collaborative leader who shares best practices and elevates team performance
  • Proven track record of managing and scaling high‑performing teams
