The DC-MLS® Enterprise team supports the initial deployment, integration, and coordination of site support for DC-MLS® implementations across high-performance computing programs, other customer contracts, and the DC-MLS® Core team.

This is a hands-on position for an engineer who can work across Unix and Linux systems, scripting, software development, configuration management, and deployment automation. The ideal candidate understands how to build repeatable deployment processes, troubleshoot technical issues across the environment, and support secure systems throughout the deployment lifecycle.

This position also offers a unique growth opportunity within DPG. You will have visibility with the customer, work directly with technical and mission stakeholders, and help strengthen DPG’s presence on an important program in Virginia.

Responsibilities

  • Support the initial deployment, integration, and coordination of site support for DC-MLS® Enterprise implementations.
  • Support DC-MLS® deployments across high-performance computing programs, customer contracts, and the DC-MLS® Core environment.
  • Administer, configure, and troubleshoot Unix and Linux-based systems.
  • Develop and maintain automation using Python, Perl, Korn shell, Bourne/Bash, Ansible, and other scripting technologies.
  • Develop, manage, and improve DevOps deployment automation processes.
  • Support software builds, integration, configuration management, testing, deployment, and operational activities.
  • Use revision control and development platforms such as CVS, SVN, Git, GitLab, and GitLab CI.
  • Maintain system and software configuration baselines across deployment environments.
  • Troubleshoot software, operating system, scripting, configuration, and deployment-related issues.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering, software development, infrastructure, cybersecurity, HPC, and mission teams.
  • Document deployment procedures, system configurations, technical issues, and operational support activities.
  • Support secure configuration, access control, vulnerability remediation, and customer compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate technical activities between deployment sites, program stakeholders, and the DC-MLS® Core team.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of combined experience in Linux systems administration, scripting, software development, configuration management, DevOps, or systems engineering.
  • Strong working knowledge of Unix and Linux operating environments.
  • Proficiency with Python, Perl, Korn shell, Bourne/Bash, Ansible, and other shell scripting technologies.
  • Experience developing and maintaining deployment automation processes.
  • Experience with configuration management and repeatable system deployment practices.
  • Experience with revision control platforms such as CVS, SVN, Git, GitLab, or GitLab CI.
  • Experience troubleshooting software, operating systems, deployment automation, and configuration issues.
  • Ability to work effectively with software, infrastructure, cybersecurity, systems engineering, and mission stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Security+ certification.
  • Active TS/SCI with an adjudicated CI Polygraph prior to start.
  • US Citizenship.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting DC-MLS®, multi-level secure systems, cross-domain solutions, or similarly controlled environments.
  • Experience supporting enterprise deployments, initial site activation, integration, or fielded system operations.
  • Experience working with high-performance computing systems or HPC program environments.
  • Experience supporting classified systems and national security customers.
  • Experience with GitLab CI, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, or software deployment frameworks.
  • Experience with systems engineering activities such as requirements analysis, integration, testing, deployment, and operational support.
  • Experience maintaining technical documentation, system baselines, deployment procedures, and configuration records.
  • Experience working in Agile development or engineering environments.

What We Are Looking For
