Position Description: Systems Engineer- Local Candidates Only- Abingdon VAPosition SummaryWe are seeking a mid-to-senior level Systems Engineer for a compliance-driven production environment.This role supports a FedRAMP-authorized Cloud Service Provider (CSP) environment operating under an Authority to Operate (ATO). The position focuses on system-level oversight, compliance monitoring, remediation coordination, and maintaining operational reliability within recurring ATO cycles.Key Responsibilities• Maintain a high-level, end-to-end view of system architecture, dependencies, and operational impacts• Provide oversight of the FedRAMP-authorized CSP environment and Azure-based resources to support ATO compliance• Support recurring ATO cycles through monitoring, documentation, and compliance activities• Monitor security events and system anomalies using Rapid7• Coordinate remediation efforts with the FedRAMP CSP to maintain compliance and resolve findings• Track remediation activities and ensure timely completion within required compliance timelines• Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency, audit readiness, and operational discipline• Oversee Microsoft SQL Server environments, PowerShell automation efforts, and Power BI Gateway operations• Participate in after-hours and weekend on-call support as requiredRequired Experience & Qualifications• Mid-to-senior level experience as a Systems Engineer in complex, compliance-driven production environments• Experience working in FedRAMP-authorized CSP environments and supporting ATO processes• Familiarity with ATO cycles, compliance requirements, and remediation tracking• Strong ability to understand and communicate system architecture and operational impact at a high level• Working knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, Microsoft SQL Server, and Azure environments• Experience monitoring security alerts (Rapid7 preferred) and supporting remediation activities• Familiarity with Rapid7, PowerShell, Power BI Gateways, and cloud service provider operations• Strong written and verbal communication skills $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 Annually
