HYBRID POSITION - Phoenix, AZ (2-3 days per week in office)


We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join our Microsoft 365 Email & Collaboration team. This role is responsible for the design, administration, security, and support of Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Entra ID, and related collaboration technologies.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Microsoft 365 administration, email security, messaging infrastructure, and enterprise collaboration platforms. This individual will lead complex projects, support secure SMTP relay and application integration solutions, provide white-glove support for high-visibility initiatives, and serve as an escalation point for critical user and business application issues. The role requires close collaboration with cybersecurity teams, developers, business units, and executive stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable communication and collaboration services.


Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Entra ID.
  • Lead and participate in strategic projects involving security, compliance, migrations, automation, and platform modernization.
  • Design, support, and troubleshoot enterprise email routing solutions, including SMTP relay services, application mail flow, and secure email delivery.
  • Partner with development teams and business units to integrate custom and third-party applications with Microsoft 365 services, Exchange Online, SMTP infrastructure, and identity platforms.
  • Investigate and resolve complex Tier 3 escalations involving messaging, collaboration, identity, access management, and business-critical applications.
  • Implement and maintain Microsoft 365 security controls, governance standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain and secure mail flow between cloud services, on-premises systems, business applications, and external vendors.
  • Analyze and resolve complex messaging issues involving SMTP authentication, connectors, transport rules, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and email security controls.
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell automation, reporting, and operational processes.
  • Provide white-glove support for executive, enterprise, and high-visibility initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, networking, and application teams to improve service reliability, security, and operational effectiveness.
  • Lead projects involving application modernization, cloud migrations, messaging platform enhancements, and secure integration of enterprise applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience administering Microsoft 365 services in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Entra ID.
  • Experience with SMTP relay services, email routing, mail flow troubleshooting, and application integrations.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Security and Compliance, Exchange Online Protection, Defender, Conditional Access, and identity security best practices.
  • Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
  • Experience supporting large-scale environments and managing complex technical projects.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills with the ability to work directly with executives and business leaders.
  • Microsoft 365, Security, Azure, or related certifications preferred.
