Job description

Reconditioning Cutting Tools Technician
We are looking for a Reconditioning Cutting Tools Technician to work onsite at a customer location to increase profitability by building a value-based proposition through on-site customer test data collection. The successful incumbent for this role will be able to bring profitable growth, exceed GSR (gross sales revenue) target by offering high-performance solutions at identified cutting tool end user accounts.

Your Responsibilities
  • Exceed budget in identified accounts through collaboration both internal and external Interface, Collaboration, Stakeholders
  • Day to day activities are performed on-site at end user assigned accounts. Collecting data related to cutting speeds, feeds, chip load, chip thickness and coating characteristics. Seeking to find opportunities for gaining efficiency
  • Interact with the product management team on a regular basis
  • Collaborating with CSC, Operations and Sales to promote value based selling approach
  • Build the assigned accounts profitable GSR (gross sales revenue) by working closely with sales in identified accounts in the USA and Canada

Your Profile
  • Machinist trades certificate from an accredited Vocational Technical school
  • Three years manual or CNC machining experience considered
  • Knowledge of cutting tool types, chip thickness, relation of speeds and feeds, cutting tool wear characteristics, causes of types of tool wear
  • General knowledge of manufacturing processes (metal cutting, composites cutting, drilling, reaming, tapping, etc.)

Oerlikon is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position, which is $64,620 to $78,900 annually. Some positions within Oerlikon may also offer eligibility to participate in a discretionary incentive program. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for the role will be based on a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, internal equity, job location, work experience, education, training, certifications, licenses, etc. Therefore, as compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each individual, it is likely that not all applicants will be hired at the highest end of the listed compensation range. Our total compensation package goes beyond base compensation and it will include a competitive benefits package starting with 2 weeks paid time off accrued on a monthly basis, 12 holidays, 48 hours personal/sick time (exception for NY where we follow State law,) medical, dental, vision, 401K, holidays, pet insurance and tuition reimbursement all effective day one of hire.
