Trade Compliance Manager

What you will enjoy doing*
  • In this role, you will act as subject matter expert for U.S. trade compliance (Customs, Import/Export, Export Controls)
  • You also will advise internal stakeholders on U.S. customs regulations, trade programs, and compliance risks
  • Further, you will support the development and continuous improvement of trade compliance policies, procedures, and controls
  • Evaluating the impact of regulatory changes and communicate implications to affected stakeholders will be part of your role
  • You will support internal and external audits, assessments, and compliance reviews
  • Additionally, you will be responsible for contributing to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives
  • You will perform and validate HTS classification and country of origin determinations for all relevant equipment of an EPC company
  • You will also ensure compliant import and export transactions in accordance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and other applicable authorities
  • In this role, you will also support duty, tax, and fee calculations, including preferential trade programs where applicable
  • Manage, oversee and evaluate customs brokers and service providers in the U.S
  • Furthermore, you will review and maintain customs documentation, entry summaries, and audit-relevant records
  • Also, you will perform post-entry reviews, corrections, and reconciliations as required
  • You will support Export Control and Dual-Use compliance, including license determinations where applicable
  • Maintaining trade compliance data in relevant compliance and authority systems will be part of your role
  • Serve as point of contact for internal trade compliance questions from logistics, procurement, and project teams
  • Ensuring compliance with U.S. regulations including 19 CFR, CBP entry procedures, Reconciliation processes, and Post Summary Corrections (PSC) is crucial to your role
  • Additionally, you will assess and implement duty-saving opportunities (e.g. Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ), bonded warehousing, temporary imports)

What makes you great
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, International Trade, Logistics, Law, or a related field is required for this role
  • Additionally, you have several years of experience in U.S. trade compliance, customs, or international logistics
  • You have strong knowledge in the following areas: U.S. Customs regulations and procedures, HTS classification and origin rules, Import/export documentation and broker management, Export Control / Dual-Use regulations
  • Experience working with ERP systems and customs/compliance tools is required for this role
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are an asset
