Training Manager, Biotronik NEURO
At BIOTRONIK Neuro, we're ready to redefine relief for patients experiencing chronic pain. Leveraging BIOTRONIK's advanced cardiovascular technologies, BIOTRONIK Neuro has created a new approach to SCS therapy management: one that's not just implanted, but truly connected to the needs of patients and providers.
The Training Manager is responsible for establishing best practices and continuous process improvement for US-based training initiatives targeted primarily at field sales and clinical support employees, as well as customer-facing education programs as deemed appropriate. The Training Manager leads the development of training which provides in-depth technical knowledge of products, therapies, processes, and product benefits. The Training Manager is also responsible for supporting the certification progress of new hires and provides training and guidance to the field trainers and on-boarding mentors.
Essential Functions:
The Training Manager's responsibilities include the following:
  • Lead the development and implementation of education programs aligned with Training and Education department activities and corporate goals and objectives
  • Coordinate the preparation of presentations, lectures, publications, and online training content related to BIOTRONIK Neuro's products, new hire onboarding, customer-facing education, etc.
  • Provide training and guidance to the field trainers and support the certification progress of new hires
  • Maintain expertise on products, therapies and product benefits versus the competition and acquire knowledge on new BIOTRONIK Neuro therapies and competitor products
  • Provide instructional support for the facilitation of education programs
  • Maintain and apply expertise in subject matter, instructional design, adult learning, and facilitation
  • Support the development of requirements for the training and certification of field employees
  • Support the development of department policies, procedures and work instructions including a formal certification manual
  • Build performance improvement capabilities and metrics that directly help the sales organization create and maintain a competitive advantage
  • Support a global training partnership

Competencies:
  • Adult Learning theory, instructional design, facilitation skills
  • Experience with SCS implant and follow-up, or equivalency
  • Attention to detail
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively

Required Education and Experience:
  • BA/BS in Learning, Biology, Health Science, Engineering or Nursing or Equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of field clinical/sales experience in the Medical Device or Complex Pharmaceutical Industry
  • Experience in developing and leading technical training initiatives

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Experience developing and leading training for invasive medical device therapy
  • Certification in a nationally recognized training/facilitation course
  • Certification in curriculum architecture and slide design

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment whether on-site or remote. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, camera, and phones.
Physical Demands:

This is a largely sedentary role; however, there will be some in-person facilitation. This would require the ability to stand for long periods of time, move about the room to monitor workshops, and bend and lift equipment such as programmers (approximately 25 pounds). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk and hear.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Standard days of work are Monday through Friday. Hours of work may vary depending on time zone supported. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel:
Approximately 30-50% domestic overnight travel expected. This includes travel to headquarters to facilitate classes, as well as support of customer training and congresses. There is potential for International travel, but this would be rare.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
If not already certified in BIOTRONIK Neuro's products, this person would need to complete a certification course
