What is a customer support associate?

Customer Support Associates are professionals responsible for assisting customers with inquiries, problems, or complaints related to a company's products or services. They typically communicate with customers through various channels such as phone, email, chat, or social media to provide information, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction. Their role is crucial in maintaining positive relationships between the company and its customers, as well as in gathering feedback to improve products and services.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a customer support associate, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Customer Support Associate, you need strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a customer-centric mindset, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. To manage these effectively, it's helpful to develop strong communication and problem-solving skills, stay organized, and regularly participate in training sessions. Most companies provide supportive team environments and resources, such as knowledge bases and escalation paths, to help associates navigate complex situations and continue improving their performance.

  • Reproduce and document suspected bugs using team guidance, templates, and internal processes.
  • Stay informed on product updates, known issues, ticket trends, and internal team guidance.
  • With team guidance, monitor and respond to user feedback across app store reviews, Reddit, or social media.
  • Help maintain support resources and help content, flag recurring pain points, and as you grow, contribute ideas that improve our workflows.

You Might Be a Fit If You:

Nice to Have:

  • Previous experience in customer support, hospitality, communications, or another people facing role.

  • Experience writing help content, documentation, or customer-facing instructions.
  • Understanding of nutrition concepts or credentials in the field (not required, but a bonus!)

  • Comprehensive health & dental benefits
  • RRSP Matching
  • Employee Stock Option Plan
  • 3 weeks paid time off, plus flexible schedule and WFH days
  • Company mobile phone & phone plan
  • Fitness device rebate
  • Professional development opportunities
  • A mountain-town office filled with people who love nutrition, tech and the outdoors
