What is a customer success operations analyst?

Customer Success Operations Analysts are professionals who support customer success teams by optimizing processes, analyzing data, and implementing tools to improve customer experience and retention. They work behind the scenes to ensure that the customer success team operates efficiently, using insights from data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Their responsibilities may include creating reports, managing customer success software, and developing strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty. By bridging the gap between data analysis and customer-facing teams, they help drive overall company growth.

How does a customer success operations analyst typically collaborate with customer success managers and other departments?

A Customer Success Operations Analyst works closely with Customer Success Managers (CSMs) to streamline processes, analyze customer data, and provide actionable insights that help improve customer satisfaction and retention. Analysts often serve as a bridge between CSMs and departments like Sales, Product, and Marketing by sharing data-driven recommendations and helping to implement scalable solutions. Collaboration usually involves regular meetings, reporting on key metrics, and supporting the adoption of new tools or workflows. This cross-functional teamwork ensures that customer success strategies are aligned with broader business goals and that teams are equipped with the information needed to deliver outstanding customer experiences.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a customer success operations analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Customer Success Operations Analyst, you need strong analytical skills, experience with data management, and a background in business or related fields. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems, data visualization tools like Tableau, and proficiency in Excel or SQL are typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills help you work effectively with cross-functional teams and translate data insights into actionable strategies. These abilities are crucial for optimizing customer success processes, driving retention, and supporting data-driven decision-making.

Job Overview

Relativity's Success Operations team drives strategy, planning, and business operations for the company's post-sale Customer Success organization, Relativity Success. We are trusted thought and execution partners to department leadership, working closely with them to shape and deliver the strategies that drive value for our customers and internal teams. Within Success Operations, the Strategic Execution team governs how the department operates - sequencing priorities, owning the planning cycle, and advising leadership.
As part of this team, the Senior Strategy & Business Operations Associate will act as a business partner to the teams across Relativity Success, keeping Strategic Execution close to what's happening on the ground. Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Execution, you'll build the relationships and gather the intelligence that - combined with the department's operational data - become a single, decision-ready operating picture that leadership uses to prioritize work across teams, people capacity, AI and technology efforts, make trade-off calls, and report value to executives. You'll act as both a strategic thought partner and a hands-on operator who helps turn strategy into grounded decisions - a role for someone who is both a credible relationship-builder and a rigorous analyst, energized by building a capability rather than inheriting one.

Job Description and Requirements

Core duties of the role

  • Serve as a strategic thought partnerto Success leadership, supporting the planning, alignment, and execution of the department'soperating rhythm.

  • Partner with teams across Relativity Successto understandwhat'shappening on the ground andchannel thatintelligence into Strategic Execution's prioritization and reportingcapabilities.

  • Support prioritization for cross-team work, helping assess dependencies, surface conflicts, and keep sequencing decisions groundedto ensure it all leads towards the department's goals and priorities.

  • Stay close to in-flight work across the departmentthrough the relevant cross-team forums, so prioritization and reporting reflect a complete picture.

  • Recommend action, not just report it- surface cross-team dependencies, risks, and AI-maturity signals with a proposed course of action attached, not just the finding.

  • Contribute to executive reporting and annual planningwith current intelligence on adoption, cross-team dynamics, and where the organization is heading.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in strategy, business operations, management consulting, or customer success operations, ideally within a SaaS or technology environment.

  • Abalance of relationship-building and analytical rigor: you build trusted relationships with and influence senior leaders whodon'treport to you, and you turn quantitative measurement and qualitative intelligence into a coherent, actionable picture. Candidatesweightedheavily to one side are notthe fit.

  • A track recordof owning consequential decisions in ambiguous, fast-moving situations, and of standing up new processes or capabilities where none existed before.

  • Proven ability to manage a heavy, competing workload with disciplined prioritization, and the intellectual honesty to name trade-offs directly and say what leadership needs to hear.

  • An exceptional communicator across formats - written, verbal, and executive-facing - with experience using tools such as Gainsight, Salesforce, and Tableau and practical fluency in AI-enabled operations.

  • Bonus:SaaS, legal tech, or e-discovery experience; or exposure to AI adoption or transformation programs.

Relativity is committed to competitive, fair, and equitable compensation practices.

This position is eligible for total compensation which includes a competitive base salary, an annual performance bonus, and long-term incentives.

The expected salary range for this role is between following values:

$100,000 and $150,000

The final offered salary will be based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience, skill set, qualifications, and internal pay equity. Hiring at the top end of the range would not be typical, to allow for future meaningful salary growth in this position.

Required Skills:

Business Operations, Change Management, Consulting, Cross-Functional Teamwork, Operational Excellence, Process Improvements, Project Management, Risk Management, Strategic Planning, Strategy Development
