Job description


SUMMARY
Mortenson is hiring an Equipment Solutions Manager-Civil to support our Civil Group. This role partners with other Equipment Solutions Managers to provide leadership and project assistance.
Location: Minneapolis, MN (in office 5 days/week)
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Managing and organizing owned equipment, storage, and tooling
  • Equipment planning and scheduling with internal project teams, equipment solutions teams, and 3rd party vendors
  • Large inventory management
  • Financial forecasting and budgeting
  • Rental software contract management
  • Equipment logistics planning
  • Vendor relations
  • Understanding of construction equipment maintenance, opportunities, constraints and requirements
  • Establish improved efficiencies and process improvement plans for warehouse and equipment yard using 5S strategies
  • Lead department initiatives to include development, training and support
  • Manage a team of craft and non-craft team members
  • Support innovation by encouraging new process development
  • Interior and exterior responsibilities required
  • Travel expectation 50%

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience in construction, equipment rental, and/or project management or 10+ years equivalent professional trade experience
  • Structured cabling or electrical technology experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction equipment and materials
  • Familiarity with basic maintenance/service schedules
  • Effective communication both verbal and written
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize based on workload
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Valid US Driver's License with clean driving record
  • Ability to travel 50%
  • 1+ year of direct team leadership and management experience (preferred)
  • Experience with budget planning and financial oversight (preferred)

The base pay range for this role is $113,500 - $170,300. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
