HVAC Service Manager
Location: Winchester, VA
Riddleberger Brothers, Inc. is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Manager to lead our commercial service operations in Winchester, Virginia. This position oversees dispatchers, parts personnel, and service technicians while ensuring the department can respond to customer needs 24/7.
The ideal candidate is an organized, customer-focused leader with strong HVAC experience and the ability to manage employees, scheduling, inventory, training, and daily service operations.
What You'll Do
  • Lead and supervise service technicians, dispatchers, and parts personnel.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing and scheduling for 24/7 service response.
  • Plan workloads and assign work efficiently.
  • Participate in hiring, performance evaluations, and employee development.
  • Develop technical training programs for service technicians.
  • Evaluate technician skills and identify individual training needs.
  • Review service agreements to ensure inspections and requirements are completed.
  • Review service timesheets, shop time, callbacks, and follow-up items.
  • Prepare customer proposals and time-and-material quotes.
  • Order parts, materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Maintain truck stock, parts inventory, and refrigerant records.
  • Coordinate service schedules with other internal teams.
  • Provide backup dispatching support when needed.
  • Maintain regular customer contact to support satisfaction and retention.
  • Assist with service agreement sales and other service department sales efforts.
  • Ensure warranty parts are properly documented and returned.
  • Maintain and enforce safe work procedures.
  • Develop annual truck and tool purchasing plans.

  • Minimum of five years of commercial HVAC service experience, including experience with commercial equipment, service operations, and technician supervision.
  • Technical or business degree preferred.
  • Engineering knowledge gained through a combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience supervising service technicians or service operations preferred.
  • Strong decision-making, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office experience preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees, customers, suppliers, and other departments.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driver qualification requirements.
  • Dependable with regular and punctual attendance.
