Customer Service Insurance representatives are professionals who assist policyholders and potential customers with inquiries related to insurance products, policy details, claims, billing, and coverage options. They serve as the primary point of contact between insurance companies and clients, helping to resolve issues, answer questions, and ensure customer satisfaction. These representatives may work for insurance agencies, brokers, or directly for insurance companies, and are often available via phone, email, or online chat.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a customer service insurance representative?

To thrive as a Customer Service Insurance representative, you need a solid understanding of insurance products, strong problem-solving abilities, and often a high school diploma or relevant certification. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software, policy management systems, and sometimes state-specific insurance licensing is typical. Outstanding communication, patience, and conflict resolution skills help you handle client inquiries and resolve issues effectively. These skills are crucial to building trust, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining compliance in a regulated industry.

AmeriCash Loans | Columbia, SC | Full-Time

Start your career in financial services (no experience required)

AmeriCash Loans is hiring an entry-level Customer Service Representative to be the first friendly face our customers see when they walk through our doors. If you're outgoing, detail-oriented, and looking for a role where hard work is actually rewarded, we want to meet you.

About AmeriCash Loans

AmeriCash Loans is a consumer lending company serving customers across Wisconsin, Missouri, and South Carolina. We help everyday people get access to the credit they need, with a focus on fast, respectful, in-person service. As we grow, we're looking for people who want to grow with us.

About the Role

As a Customer Service Representative, you'll work directly with customers in our branch, processing loan applications from start to finish. You'll be the person who makes a sometimes-stressful process feel simple and human, walking customers through the process, answering questions, and making sure every visit is a good one. This is a hands-on, people-facing role with real room to advance.

What You'll Do

  • Greet customers and guide them through the loan application process in person
  • Collect, review, and process required documentation accurately
  • Explain loan terms and answer customer questions clearly and honestly
  • Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records
  • Maintain customer files and follow all compliance procedures
  • Build relationships that keep customers coming back

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Comfort with basic computer use and data entry
  • Ability to accurately handle cash and financial transactions
  • Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented

Preferred (not required):

  • Prior customer service, retail, or cash-handling experience
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus

Pay & Benefits

  • $16.75/hour, plus a monthly performance bonus opportunity
  • Merit increases based on performance-this isn't a role where you top out on day one
  • Promote-from-within culture- many of our leaders started in this exact role
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Company-paid life insurance
  • Generous PTO that starts building on your first day
