Looking for a flexible role in public service where your customer service skills and attention to detail make a difference?

Upper Darby Township is currently seeking a Taxpayer Customer Service Assistant to support residents during peak tax collection periods. This part-time position plays an important role in ensuring a smooth and efficient customer experience by providing front-line assistance to members of the taxpaying community. The Customer Service Assistant serves as a key point of contact at the One Center, helping residents prepare for tax payments, understand procedures, and navigate available services.

Key responsibilities include assisting customers at the payment desk, reviewing documentation for completeness prior to Tax Office processing, and providing clear guidance on acceptable payment methods, locations, and timelines. The role also involves supporting self-service payment and sign-in kiosk operations, managing customer flow between the One Center and the Tax Office, and helping maintain an organized and efficient service environment. Additional duties include reproducing tax bills, confirming amounts due using available systems, and providing general information on related Township services to support residents with tax, sewer, and trash payment inquiries.

This role requires strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to communicate clearly in a high-volume, public-facing environment.
