Located on a beautiful 33-acre campus in Laurel, Maryland, our students earn their high school diploma or equivalent while receiving hands-on career training in high-demand industries.

As a Food Service Assistant, you'll play an essential role in keeping our kitchen running smoothly while ensuring students receive nutritious meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

What You'll Do
  • Assist with daily food preparation, including washing, peeling, and preparing ingredients.
  • Set up and support meal service for students and staff.
  • Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, cafeteria, and food storage areas.
  • Clean refrigerators, ovens, stoves, floors, and other food service equipment.
  • Stock, organize, and transport food, supplies, and equipment throughout the facility.
  • Support and provide guidance to Job Corps Work-Based Learning students as assigned.
  • Deliver friendly customer service while maintaining food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and positive environment for students while supporting Career Success Standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support Food Services and Center operations.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous food service, cafeteria, restaurant, or commercial kitchen experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices preferred.
  • Ability to lift, carry, bend, and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Reliable, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
