Job description


Title: Transportation Associate
Location: St. Louis, MO (On-Site)
Summary:
Support the efficient movement of Carboline products by coordinating transportation activities, resolving shipping issues, optimizing freight costs, and ensuring on-time delivery to customers. This role serves as a key link between carriers, shipping locations, customers, and internal teams to maintain smooth logistics operations.
Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Physical Requirements:
This position requires extended computer use, up to 8 hours per day. No unusual environmental conditions, lifting requirements, or physical exertion are typically associated with this role.
Essential Functions:
  • Coordinate daily transportation activities in compliance with DOT, IATA, and company regulations.
  • Track, trace, and expedite shipments to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with carriers and shipping locations to meet delivery requirements and approved expedite requests.
  • Provide freight quotes, compare rates, and recommend cost-effective routing solutions.
  • Schedule truckload shipments and coordinate delivery timing and pricing across multiple locations.
  • Source, qualify, and maintain relationships with transportation carriers.
  • Analyze transportation data and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Assist with Bills of Lading, freight documentation, and customer returns.
  • Review freight costs and investigate invoice discrepancies or unusual charges.
  • Support carrier selection, routing decisions, and transportation strategy initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Sales, Manufacturing, Distribution, and other internal teams to support business objectives.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
