Job description

Location: Columbia Falls, Montana, or Dothan, Alabama, or Remote location may be considered. 

Description

The Project Manager owns projects at all points from project sale through production and onsite installation. He/she plays a critical role as project owner and primary point of contact for the customer and internal stakeholders. The PM contributes to the success of SmartLam by successfully delivering sold projects on time, on budget and in specification while ensuring an excellent customer experience. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Primary point of contact for customer and internal stakeholders throughout project lifecycle.
  • Manages projects from point of sale through production completion. Assists with production scheduling to ensure projects are completed according to customer needs.
  • Schedules and leads pre-production meetings and design reviews as needed.
  • Tracks projects status and costs, with detailed record keeping.
  • Produces RFIs, change orders and submittals as needed.
  • Effectively uses ERP software for project tracking.
  • Works with Project Engineering team to ensure design engineering, 3D modeling, shop drawing process, and production files stays on track to meet agreed to schedule.
  • Brings voice-of-the-customer to internal meetings to drive ongoing process and product improvement.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or equivalent.
  • 5+ years prior project management experience in construction, manufacturing, design, or related field.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, architectural and structural plans effectively.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with strong time management skills.
  • Self-motivated, capable of multi-tasking and operating with minimal supervision.
  • Effective verbal and written communicator.
  • Advanced skills with MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project


Preferred Skills & Experience

  • PMP certification.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and CRM software.
