The Role

Global Cluster Engineering (GCE) at AMD has a unique opportunity for a hybrid leader who combines technical program management and web/application engineering for AMD's next-generation Data Center Clusters. In this high-profile role, you will be the program leader for key engineering initiatives from concept to execution, and you will build and operate the web platforms and applications that deliver Cluster tooling and content to its audiences. You will work across all of engineering and business — partnering with design, platform validation, and product engineering teams — to meet overall initiative and product objectives.

The Person

The right candidate is a dynamic, innovative individual who has demonstrated success across technical program management and web/application engineering, with an outstanding track record of delivery. You pair strong written and verbal communication skills with full-stack technical depth and the ability to drive a schedule for business planning toward growth that aligns to business strategy. A willingness to learn about new technologies and find workarounds to technical challenges is highly valued.

Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Management
  • Define, plan, and drive program plans based on management and senior technical guidance
  • Scope technical and plan products by clarifying and analyzing requirements with SW/HW architects, technical leads, and engineers
  • Build, create, and maintain a well-developed, managed, and executed program plan, including formal program management artifacts such as a plan of record, statements of work, project/program timelines, budget, scope, performance, and quality KPIs
  • Plan for risks in the development path, identify prevention methods, and address them to maintain schedule
  • Work comfortably with senior executives, addressing the needs and requirements of AMD's Engineering, Product Management, and Customer Engineering organizations
  • Promote cross-team collaboration and engagement among global subject matter experts, marketing, and technical support staff
  • Effectively plan and track projects, capably reporting status and issues both up and down the organization
  • Manage multiple projects through shifting priorities and deadlines
Web/Application Development & Engineering
  • Administer web services, including deployment, configuration, and routine maintenance
  • Integrate Cluster systems with a wide range of web applications, APIs, and business systems
  • Develop and optimize web pages and applications for Cluster designs and for accessing Cluster collateral
  • Use AI to optimize websites, applications, and workflows and to develop new features
Preferred Experience
  • Proficiency in web languages: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP, with full-stack software engineering experience and familiarity interacting with REST APIs
  • Cross-platform expertise with both LAMP and Microsoft (Windows, IIS, .NET, MS SQL) web stacks supporting diverse application architectures
  • Ability to work in Linux/Unix as well as Windows-based systems, and comfort working in the command line of remote systems
  • CI/CD automation across DevOps, web applications, and service deployments, including build/release pipeline optimization
  • Experience with SQL/KQL (MSSQL, MySQL, and Azure Kusto) and various reporting platforms (Power BI, Grafana, and more)
  • Experience managing multiple projects using collaborative platforms (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence, Excel) and Agile methodology
  • Web accessibility best practices
  • Ability to grasp concepts during discussions and turn minutes into action items, and to communicate concepts and processes with stakeholders
  • Analytical, self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and results-oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal and English-language writing, editing, and organizational skills, including the ability to work well with multiple people and teams and communicate progress on a regular basis
  • Experience working in a high-pressure environment with competing priorities and tight turnaround times
  • Highly motivated to seek out solutions and willing to learn new skills to fulfill job requirements
  • Familiarity with High-Performance Computing (HPC) and cluster networks
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure such as servers, networking, storage, and operating systems

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering; or in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Project Management education, PMP or equivalent certification/training is an asset
