Job description

About the Role

Are you a retail leader who loves healthy food and helping people? Our Luverne store is looking for an Assistant Store Manager (ASM) to help us run the best healthy supermarket in Alabama.

As the ASM, you are the "right hand" to our Market Manager. You’ll be the heartbeat of the sales floor—motivating the team, ensuring our organic produce looks stunning, and making sure every customer feels like a regular. This is a perfect role for a supervisor or department lead looking to take the next step in their management career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Floor Leadership: Lead by example. You’ll spend most of your shift on the floor, supporting staff and engaging with customers.
  • Daily Operations: Open and close the store, manage cash drawers, and ensure the store is "grand opening" ready at all times.
  • Inventory & Merchandising: Oversee stocking and display setups. You’ll ensure our healthy, fresh products are rotated and showcased beautifully.
  • Staff Coaching: Help train new team members and provide ongoing feedback to keep the team performing at their best.
  • Customer Excellence: Resolve customer inquiries with a "yes, and" attitude, ensuring our Luverne neighbors have a premium shopping experience.
  • Safety & Standards: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized store environment according to health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 1–2+ years of supervisory experience in retail or hospitality (Grocery or Food Service experience is a huge plus).
  • Passion: You genuinely care about healthy eating and high-quality ingredients.
  • Communication: Strong verbal skills—you’re comfortable talking to everyone from the delivery driver to the daily shopper.
  • Tech Savvy: Ability to learn our POS system and inventory management tools quickly.
  • Availability: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends and evenings.
  • Physical Ability: Comfortable being on your feet for the duration of a shift and able to lift up to 40 lbs.

Why Join Our Luverne Team?

  • Career Growth: We are growing! This role is a direct pipeline to Store Management.
  • Competitive Pay: Monthly/Quarterly bonus potential based on store performance.
  • Excellent health benefits
  • Employee Discount: Save big on your own healthy grocery hauls.
  • Community Impact: Be part of a business that is actually improving the health and wellness of Luverne.
