Customer Service Representative Rochester Hills, MI | Full-Time | Onsite


About the Role

We are looking for a Customer Service Representative to support its Training Academy. This person is the first point of contact for customers enrolling in technical training, handling course advisement, quoting, and order processing from start to finish. It's a phone-heavy, fast-moving role that also serves as the front desk presence for students and visitors on site.


What You'll Do

Customer Advisement

  • Answer inbound phone calls and emails from customers regarding training courses
  • Determine customer needs and define specific training requirements
  • Confirm class availability and delivery options, and advise on the right course path
  • Serve as a student advisor with expert knowledge of Academy training products

Order Management

  • Quote and price classes
  • Enter, confirm, and track training orders
  • Follow up on purchase order approval and validation
  • Work with customers to resolve order and invoicing issues
  • Process student enrollments and date changes

Systems and Support

  • Work daily in the ticketing system, LMS, and ERP
  • Support customers with LMS navigation and troubleshooting
  • Maintain current knowledge of FANUC Academy product lines and software tools

Cross-Department Coordination

  • Partner with Finance, Purchasing, and Sales to ensure customer commitments are met

Front Desk and Facilities Support

  • Greet and direct customers, students, and visitors
  • Support kiosk check-in, create badges, and maintain the badge access system
  • Assist visitors with the online gift shop
  • Track and deliver incoming and outgoing mail and packages
  • Assist Facilities with on-site vendor coordination


What You'll Need

  • Associate degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum one year of customer service or technical work experience
  • Proven proficiency in Windows, Oracle, and MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Touch typing at a minimum of 65 WPM with high accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex issues at once
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, including technical communication


Preferred

  • Prior exposure to FANUC equipment
  • Prior phone-based customer service experience with strong caller management skills
  • Experience following call structure in a call center setting

You're courteous, patient, and professional even when a customer is frustrated. You handle peak call volume without letting quality slip. You take initiative in a loosely structured environment and follow through on open orders without being chased.


Physical and Schedule Requirements

  • Primarily desk work including extended sitting, typing, and phone time
  • Ability to multi-task, learn new processes, and make timely decisions within a workflow with productivity expectations
  • Comfortable working through peak or overload conditions with calls in queue
  • Schedule is subject to change to support department and customer needs
  • Willingness to work overtime to meet critical deadlines
