Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled Applications Engineer specializing in fiber laser welding to support our growing customer base and advanced manufacturing portfolio. This role is critical in helping customers optimize processes, validate applications, and ensure the successful integration of our laser welding solutions into real-world production environments.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with fiber laser welding, a strong understanding of metallurgical behavior, and the ability to bridge the gap between advanced technology and customer requirements.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Conduct process development, sample preparation, and time studies using fiber laser welding equipment.
  • Lead customer demonstrations, proof-of-concept evaluations, and technical presentations both in-house and at customer facilities.
  • Provide technical guidancefor weld parameter selection, joint design, fixture requirements, and material compatibility.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Product Management, and Engineering to determine best-fit solutions and support project scoping.
  • Develop and maintain detailed application documentation, including weld procedures, process notes, and technical reports.
  • Support equipment installation, commissioning, and operator training for new customers.
  • Troubleshoot welding issues and provide ongoing post-sales technical support.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in process stability, quality, and throughput.

Pay Range:

  • $60,000.00-$70,000.00

Work Environment:

  • Onsite work at Schaumburg, ILL.
  • Monday - Friday
  • 8:00am - 5:00pm
