Overview
We are seeking Systems Engineers located in Herndon, VA. We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer with expertise in DevOps to join our technology-based program supporting a key Government customer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our customer's application infrastructure in support of this customer's mission, ensuring the smooth operation of all systems within the virtual environment (Nutanix, VMs,) to optimize performance, scalability and automation.
What will you do?
  • Manage and maintain the customer's application servers, networks and development & test infrastructure
  • Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot application hosting services
  • Monitor system performance and audits to ensure data integrity and protection
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify technical requirements and implement solutions that meet business needs
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, resolving issues in a timely manner
  • Implement best practices for automation, backup, disaster recovery, and system redundancy
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in cloud computing and IT systems administration

Do you have what it takes?
  • TS/SCI with poly required
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degrees in computer science are preferred with 11 year's relevant experience
  • Infrastructure as a code language (e.g. Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.)
  • Experience with Linux System Administration and containerization tools (e.g. Docker)
  • Ability to use source Control tools (e.g. Git, Subversion,)
  • Experience in Cloud based services (AWS, Azure)
  • Understand and implement network architecture (e.g. VLAN, subnets)
  • Candidate should have experience in security review of applications and infrastructure.
  • Ability to analyze and solve networking issues
  • Research new technologies in object-oriented programming.
  • Works well in an engineering team environment with other teammates who varied skills levels.
  • Ability to mentor others

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:
  • Experience with infrastructure automation technologies like Cisco NSO
  • Experience with SD-WAN technology and applications (e.g. Versa)
  • Experience with build automation technologies like Maven, Jenkins, etc.
  • Experience with building APIs and services using REST, SOAP, etc.
  • Experience with scripting languages like Perl, Shell, Bash etc.
