Custom Blinds information

What are custom blinds?

Custom blinds are window coverings that are made to fit the exact dimensions and style preferences of your windows. Unlike ready-made blinds, custom blinds offer more variety in materials, colors, and features, ensuring a perfect fit and look for your space. They can be designed to match your interior décor and can include options like motorization, light control, and special finishes. Many people choose custom blinds for their enhanced functionality and aesthetic appeal.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a custom blinds installer?

To thrive as a Custom Blinds Installer, you generally need experience with measuring, cutting, and installing window treatments, as well as a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with hand and power tools, basic carpentry skills, and sometimes a valid driver's license are typically required. Excellent customer service, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities help installers work efficiently and ensure client satisfaction. These skills ensure precise installations, minimize errors, and build positive client relationships, all of which are crucial for success in this hands-on role.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in custom blinds installation and how can they be overcome?

Professionals in custom blinds installation often encounter challenges such as measuring windows accurately, dealing with irregular window shapes, and ensuring proper alignment for a seamless fit. To overcome these, strong attention to detail, effective communication with clients, and proficiency with measurement tools are crucial. Additionally, staying updated on the latest installation techniques and product innovations can help streamline the process and minimize errors, leading to higher client satisfaction and fewer callbacks.

As a Stoneside Sales Design Consultant, you’ll bring beauty and function together - helping clients turn their homes into spaces they love. You’ll meet with customers in their homes, listen to their vision, and guide them toward the perfect custom blinds, shades, and draperies.

  • Mileage, parking, and toll reimbursement
  • Company iPhone, laptop, and design sample kit
  • Enjoy the freedom of working independently and traveling locally – consultants typically drive 3 - 5 hours on the road daily. If you love being out and about rather than behind a desk, this could be a great fit!
You'll Thrive Here if You:
  • Are a top performer who loves consultative selling
  • Enjoy being on the road and meeting clients in person
  • Want sales autonomy and the backing of a people-first culture

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspire clients with your design expertise and bring their ideas to life.
  • Deliver an amazing in-home experience from first appointment to final install.
  • Measure, design, and recommend - ensuring every detail is perfect.
  • Manage your own leads, relationships, and sales success.

  • Passion for design and exceptional client experiences
  • Excellent communication, professionalism, and self-motivation
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Background in in-home sales, design consulting, or luxury retail a plus
  • Residence within 30 minutes of city center and ability to lift up to 35 lbs
Compensation
  • W-2 employee status (not an independent contractor)
  • $1500 per week + commission during 12 weeks of training, then 100% commission
  • Training will be in Denver
  • Average first-year earnings: $130K+ | Top performers: $185K–$200K+
  • Additional monthly bonus opportunity of $750+ based on customer reviews
