Job description

I. POSITION PURPOSE
The Church and Parish Office Custodian help St Nicholas in its mission to lead all to the Father through Jesus Christ, by ensuring that the parish facilities are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion and are "ready to be used". The custodian helps provide a pleasant, cleanly environment in which our community works and worships, and in that helps raise their hearts and minds to the Father.
II. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Assures the church building, parish office, and Old St Nicholas Church are maintained in a clean and orderly manner including dry mopping floors, wet mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, cleaning bathrooms, laundering cleaning related items, collecting and disposing of trash / recycling items and washing windows.
  2. Assures that the Church is clean and ready for Sunday Mass, as well as, for any Holy Days of Obligation, Funerals, Weddings, and other special events. Also tidies up after the weekend.
  3. Works with the Parish Hall Custodian to manage cleaning supplies, keeping an inventory and coordinating with vendors to ordering new supplies as needed.
  4. Performs occasional "deep cleaning" when necessary. This may include but is not limited to carpet cleaning, waxing floors, scrubbing grout, polishing brass.
  5. Provides custodian coverage for other buildings as directed by the Parish administrator when other staff members are unavailable.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
