Position Summary:
Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a full-time Associate Dean of Business on our Fond du Lac Campus. The Associate Dean provides operational leadership and decision-making for assigned academic programs within the Teaching and Learning Primary System. This position supports implementation of institutional, unit, and academic area plans by aligning program priorities with coordinated actions, faculty assignments, schedules, curriculum work, resource use, and student success strategies.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a related field, two years of teaching experience (If two years of teaching experience is not met, a combination of teaching and other related experiences, such as project management, training development, program coordination, and/or curriculum writing and oversight may be considered.) and two years of leadership experience.

Responsibilities:
โ€ข Provide operational leadership and ensure effective delivery of assigned academic programs, including course delivery, curriculum implementation, instructional resources, and safety expectations.
โ€ข Align program operations with College and unit priorities by determining, course scheduling, faculty assignments, resource use, and continuous improvement efforts based on program needs and data.
โ€ข Hire, mentor, and supervise assigned employees. Responsible for the performance management, coaching, and ongoing growth and development of direct reports.
โ€ข Develop and manage course schedules, enrollments, and instructional coverage to support student access, progression, and program needs.
โ€ข Support instructional quality and effectiveness by working with faculty to ensure course delivery, assessment practices, instructional delivery and learning environments meet College and external expectations.
โ€ข Manage assigned program curriculum in collaboration with faculty, curriculum staff, and the Dean to ensure courses and programs remain current, relevant, consistent, and aligned with College review processes and external standards as applicable.
โ€ข Use data related to enrollment, retention, completion, course success, student progression, and program performance to inform decisions, recommend improvements, and support student success and program effectiveness.
โ€ข Coordinate program advisory committee operations and incorporate employer and stakeholder input to support program relevance, responsiveness to workforce needs.
โ€ข Support with academic initiatives, instructional budgets, special projects, grants, and student/personnel issues in alignment with College and unit priorities.
โ€ข Manage the departmental budget and monitor expenses for areas of direct supervision. Provide input for strategic planning and budget development to include current expenses, major equipment, and College initiative requests. Manage grant and budget expenditures.
โ€ข Respond to student and employee concerns and issues, develop and implement solutions, and make recommendations to the Academic Dean when appropriate.
Experience & Qualifications(in addition to those listed in the summary above):
โ€ข Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum and assessment.
โ€ข Knowledge of ERP systems, online learning management systems, and general software applications, including Microsoft Office 365 (Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
โ€ข Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with end users, colleagues, and management to provide a complete and timely explanation of issues and decisions to ensure customer satisfaction.
โ€ข Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team.
โ€ข Demonstrated project management experience and the ability to work independently and problem-solve using sound judgment.
โ€ข High degree of organizational skills and the ability to quickly interpret and synthesize data and information from multiple sources to develop insights and recommendations.
โ€ข Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.
