Project Manager - Heavy Civil ConstructionPosition Overview

We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to oversee and successfully deliver heavy civil construction and excavation projects. This role is ideal for a construction professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys managing multiple priorities, and takes pride in delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.

The Project Manager will work closely with senior leadership, field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients while managing all aspects of project execution, from estimating and procurement through scheduling, cost control, and project closeout.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management
  • Lead construction projects from preconstruction through completion.

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.

  • Coordinate field operations, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.

  • Monitor project performance and proactively identify and resolve issues.

  • Conduct regular site visits and ensure project milestones are achieved.

  • Maintain effective communication with clients, field personnel, and project leadership.

Estimating & Preconstruction
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare project estimates.

  • Solicit, review, and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.

  • Participate in bid reviews and proposal development.

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

  • Assist with project planning and procurement activities.

Contract Administration
  • Manage and track RFIs, submittals, and plan revisions.

  • Prepare, review, and negotiate change orders.

  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.

  • Monitor procurement activities and material deliveries.

  • Ensure project records remain current and organized throughout the project lifecycle.

Safety & Quality
  • Promote a strong culture of safety throughout all project phases.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of construction project management experience.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience reviewing and interpreting construction plans and specifications.

  • Minimum 5 years of estimating and quantity takeoff experience.

  • Experience managing change orders and project documentation.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening.

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
