Job description

Position Overview:

SSM Health SLUCare Physician Group, the academic medical practice of Saint Louis University School of Medicine, is seeking a dedicated and academically oriented Hematologist/Oncologist to join our expanding Division of Hematology and Oncology. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a growing clinical, research, and teaching program within a mission-driven, patient-centered academic environment.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative team committed to excellence in clinical care, medical education, and scholarly activity. Faculty rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) will be determined by qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical:

  • Provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient care in hematology and medical oncology
  • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and collaborate with specialists across the health system
  • Develop a clinical focus area aligned with division needs and candidate expertise (e.g., malignant hematology, solid tumors, benign hematology)

Academic & Teaching:

  • Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows
  • Participate in curriculum development and educational initiatives within the School of Medicine
  • Serve as a role model for professionalism and evidence-based practice.

Research & Scholarly Activity:

  • Engage in clinical, translational, or outcomes-based research
  • Contribute to publications, presentations, and grant activity as appropriate
  • Support the divisions commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and improving patient outcomes

Service:

  • Participate in divisional, departmental, and institutional committees
  • Support the academic mission of Saint Louis University and SSM Health SLUCare

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board certified or board eligible in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology
  • Eligibility for Missouri medical licensure
  • Demonstrated commitment to academic medicine, teaching, and scholarly activity
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset
