SALARY RANGE: $136k - $205k
Astrion has an exciting opportunity fora highly skilled and experienced Deputy Curriculum Development Program Manager to assist in leading and managing all activities related to curriculum development and maintenance efforts under a large-scale training support contract. This individual will play a key role in overseeing contract personnel engaged in instructional design and course development initiatives, ensuring all deliverables meet quality standards and program objectives.
This position also serves as the acting Program Manager in their absence and requires the flexibility to travel nationwide as needed to support training operations and engage with stakeholders.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the management and administration of training or curriculum development programs of similar size and complexity.
    • Demonstrated experience in course design and curriculum development for large-scale training programs or organizations.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
    • In lieu of a degree, 15 years of relevant curriculum development experience will be accepted.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse development teams.
    • Expertise in instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and training technologies.
    • Excellent project management, communication, and collaboration skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
  • Experience working in government, aviation, or federally regulated training environments.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and courseware development tools.
  • Knowledge of training evaluation models and performance-based instructional systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the Program Manager in overseeing all curriculum development and maintenance activities.
  • Supervise and guide contract personnel involved in instructional design, course updates, and new training content creation.
  • Ensure all curriculum products are aligned with current training standards, regulatory requirements, and client needs.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and stakeholders to ensure effective course development and delivery.
  • Monitor timelines, deliverables, and quality control measures to ensure successful project execution.
  • Act as Program Manager when required, providing leadership and oversight to maintain continuity in program performance.
  • Participate in client meetings, site visits, and reviews as needed to support ongoing development initiatives.
