Overview

As an integral member of the Talent Management team, the Senior Instructional Designer will be focused on the creation and stewardship of delivering an exceptional employee experience, with a particular focus on developing exceptional leaders to lead our teams. This is achieved through ensuring our existing curriculum is impactful, modernized and effective for USAP leaders and developing new curriculum to support future needs. The Senior Instructional Designer creates compelling learning experiences designed to support behavioral change by applying instructional design theories and methods and utilizing digital content tools to enhance the learning process.

The base pay estimate for this role is $60,800-$103,400 annually. The final offer will depend on the skills, experience, and qualifications of the selected candidate. This range is for base pay only and does not include bonuses or other compensation. This position is eligible for an annual bonus. Bonuses are not guaranteed and are awarded based on company and individual performance.

Job Highlights

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as a training solution partner to the organization, working directly and independently with the Learning Development Consultant to define the need, design and develop training solutions.
  • Applies project management skills to managing instructional design projects. Responsible for managing multiple projects and training programs concurrently.
  • Responsible for design of effective and time-frugal training material and content such as online/e-learning modules, microlearning courses, instructor-led training (to be used by varying levels of experience in facilitation), job aids, online tutorials, and multimedia content.
  • Areas of training may include, but are not limited to, new employee onboarding, performance management, professional and leadership development, and team engagements.
  • Own Learning Management System administrative maintenance and reporting. (Workday Learning & Performance modules)
  • Provides support to Talent team in communications and maintenance of design initiatives and programs.
  • Supports the maintenance of established programs to increase participation, updates content and delivery options to meet the learners where they are.
  • Partners with Talent Management team members to support training solutions for the organization, working directly and independently to refine the need and design training solutions to address. Leverages relationship management skills to build effective partnerships and drive program success.
  • Areas of focus may include, but are not limited to, new employee onboarding, performance management and talent development programs.
  • Writes and edit technical and procedural documents such as training aids, quick reference guides, participant guides and/or facilitator manuals, etc.
  • Learning Management System experience used to publish, revise content to Workday or other LMS platforms. Creates and supports Learning reporting.
  • In coordination with Talent Management team members, supports change efforts necessary to launch new and revised training experiences and culture initiatives.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSAs):

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
  • 5+ years of work experience as an Instructional Designer required, with a preference for healthcare experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of best practices in the creation & design of instructional materials for adult education and/or corporate training.
  • Knowledge and application of best practices using technology for learning, including but not limited to multimedia development, web conferencing, learning management systems, social networking, and online collaborative tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse personality types and communicate professionally with all levels of management.
  • Ability to consult with senior stakeholders, HR, and People Leaders with professionalism and influence.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex leadership design projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to determine learning needs, distill complex concepts into simple, easy to grasp design solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Project, and Excel, Articulate, Storyline and microlearning platforms.
