Job description

Purpose
CID’s art curation offering ensures a seamless design from concept to outcome. Our Art Coordinator, under the leadership of the Art Curator, will partner to seamlessly integrate with the design teams to assist in selecting, presenting, and managing art pieces, creating cohesion with pre- existing design directions. This role requires a combination of art knowledge, design sensibility, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a passion for art, a keen eye for trends, and a background in art, interior design, or a related field.
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Art Selection & Curation: Assist in selecting art pieces that align with the design vision and client preferences, including sourcing, researching, and recommending potential artworks.
  • Art Trend Analysis: Stay up to date on the latest art trends, movements, and emerging artists to provide relevant recommendations and insights for client projects.
  • Art Knowledge & Research: Conduct research on art pieces, artists, and movements to provide informed recommendations. Understand different art mediums, styles, and the historical context of various pieces.
  • Client Communication: Communicate directly with clients regarding art selections, updates, and recommendations, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
  • Presentation Formatting: Develop and prepare professional presentations to showcase curated art selections to clients, including high-quality visuals, descriptions, and mood boards.
  •  Data Entry & Organization: Maintain detailed records of art pieces, including inventory management, pricing, and client preferences. Update and manage databases related to artworks, vendors, and budget.

Education + Experience Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Studio Art, Fine Arts, Art History, Interior Design, or a related field (open to equivalent experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree).
  • 2-4 years’ experience in similar role in art, design and an understanding of various styles, mediums, and artistic movements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop) for presentation formatting, art editing, and data input/tracking.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for client interaction and presentation preparation.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks at once.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • A knowledge of current art trends and familiarity with contemporary artists is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a curatorial, design, or art-related field is highly preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with photography and art installation processes is preferred.
  • A network of relationships with artists, galleries, and art suppliers is beneficial.
