Starting Pay Rate: $16/hr

Day Shift


Join our team as a Receptionist at our Shako:Wi Cultural Center! You'll be the first welcoming face for visitors, providing a warm and friendly experience. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about culture, hospitality, and creating a welcoming environment for all guests.


What you will do as a Receptionist:

  • Greets visitors to the Shako:Wi Cultural Center and delivers our introductory message.
  • Responds to requests for information from visitors.
  • Conducts pre-arranged tours of the facility in coordination with the Manager.
  • Receives and routes all telephone calls and mail to the Cultural Center and Museum, answers questions and takes messages for absent staff.
  • Maintains the general orderliness of the Cultural Center lobby and ensures that informational materials, articles and other items are properly displayed.
  • Maintains awareness of the Cultural Center's calendar of activities and events.
  • Responsible for Gift Shop Operations.

Work Experience

To be successful as a Receptionist, you'll need:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency required.
  • Knowledge of Oneida Indian Nation culture and history required.
  • Excellent communication skills, public relations skills and telephone etiquette required.
  • Must be able to maintain accurate files and records.
  • Must be able to work well with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work weekends.
