Position Description: About the RoleDACUT Cannabis is seeking an experienced, hands-on Cultivation Manager to oversee daily cultivation operations at our Flint facility.This position is responsible for leading cultivation teams, maintaining plant health and quality, managing production schedules, and ensuring consistent execution throughout the cultivation lifecycle. The Cultivation Manager will oversee day-to-day operations across propagation, vegetative, and flowering stages while ensuring production goals, quality standards, and compliance requirements are consistently met.The ideal candidate is a proven cultivation leader with experience managing large-scale, high-volume commercial cannabis operations. We are looking for someone who understands both the science and operational side of cultivation and can effectively lead teams, troubleshoot plant health issues, manage environmental conditions, and continuously improve production.Essential ResponsibilitiesCultivation OperationsOversee daily cultivation activities across propagation, vegetative, and flowering rooms.Manage plant schedules and ensure plants move through each stage of production according to established timelines.Monitor plant health, growth, quality, and overall crop performance.Ensure cultivation SOPs are followed consistently across all rooms and shifts.Oversee watering, feeding, transplanting, pruning, defoliation, trellising, harvesting, and other cultivation activities.Coordinate harvest schedules with Post-Harvest and Inventory teams.Identify production bottlenecks and implement solutions that improve efficiency and consistency.Team LeadershipLead, coach, and develop Cultivation Supervisors, Leads, and Technicians.Assign daily responsibilities and ensure teams understand production priorities.Establish clear performance expectations and hold employees accountable.Monitor employee productivity, quality, attendance, and overall performance.Train employees on cultivation techniques, SOPs, sanitation, safety, and compliance.Develop strong Leads and Supervisors capable of independently managing their areas.Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, urgency, and continuous improvement.Plant Health & Crop ManagementConduct routine inspections of plants throughout all stages of growth.Identify nutrient deficiencies, environmental stress, pests, diseases, and other plant health concerns.Develop and maintain consistent feeding and irrigation strategies.Monitor plant development and make adjustments to improve quality and yield.Work closely with cultivation leadership to evaluate genetics, crop performance, and production results.Maintain consistency across rooms and production cycles.Environmental ControlsMonitor temperature, humidity, VPD, lighting, CO2, airflow, irrigation, and other environmental conditions.Ensure cultivation rooms remain within established environmental parameters.Review environmental data and identify trends that could impact plant health or production.Work closely with Facilities and Maintenance teams to troubleshoot HVAC, irrigation, lighting, and environmental control issues.Respond quickly to environmental alarms or equipment failures that could impact crop health.IPM & Facility SanitationOversee Integrated Pest Management (IPM) procedures throughout cultivation.Monitor crops for pests, pathogens, mold, mildew, and disease.Ensure preventative IPM treatments and procedures are completed according to schedule.Maintain strict sanitation standards throughout cultivation areas.Ensure employees follow biosecurity, PPE, and sanitation requirements.Inventory & ComplianceEnsure accurate plant counts, movements, harvest records, waste documentation, and inventory tracking.Partner closely with Cultivation Inventory Specialists to maintain inventory accuracy.Ensure all cultivation activities comply with company SOPs and Michigan CRA requirements.Support METRC documentation and reconciliation as required.Assist with internal audits and regulatory inspections.Investigate and resolve inventory or compliance discrepancies.Production Planning & PerformanceDevelop cultivation schedules based on production requirements.Monitor key cultivation metrics including yield, plant health, harvest performance, labor productivity, and crop consistency.Evaluate room performance and identify opportunities to improve production.Maintain accurate cultivation records and production reports.Provide regular updates to leadership regarding crop health, production timelines, staffing, and operational concerns.Continuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve cultivation processes, efficiency, quality, and yield.Develop and improve SOPs as cultivation operations evolve.Evaluate equipment, technology, and cultivation methods that could improve production.Implement scalable systems that create consistency across rooms and cultivation teams.Work cross-functionally with Post-Harvest, Inventory, Compliance, Facilities, Processing, and Executive Leadership.QualificationsRequired5+ years of commercial cannabis cultivation experience.3+ years of cultivation leadership or management experience.Experience managing large-scale, high-volume indoor cultivation operations.Strong understanding of cannabis plant health, nutrition, irrigation, environmental controls, and crop management.Strong knowledge of propagation, vegetative growth, flowering, and harvest processes.Experience leading and developing cultivation teams.Strong understanding of IPM practices and plant health management.Ability to analyze cultivation data and make informed production decisions.Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and manage multiple priorities.Must be at least 21 years of age and meet all requirements for employment within Michigan's cannabis industry.PreferredExperience managing multiple cultivation rooms or facilities simultaneously.Experience with automated irrigation and fertigation systems.Experience with environmental monitoring and cultivation control systems.Strong METRC knowledge.Experience developing cultivation SOPs and production schedules.Experience improving yield, quality, and production efficiency within large-scale commercial grows.Experience working within vertically integrated cannabis operations.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, squat, reach, twist, climb, and perform repetitive movements.Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.Ability to safely work from ladders and elevated platforms when necessary.Ability to work in warm, humid cultivation environments with high-intensity lighting.Ability to work around cannabis plants, fertilizers, nutrients, and strong odors.Ability to wear required PPE throughout the workday.Ability to respond to cultivation or environmental issues outside normal
