This hybrid position is designed for a resource who thrives in cross-functional networking and security environments. The engineer will administer voice collaboration platforms while managing network firewalls to ensure secure, reliable, and compliant communications.
Key Responsibilities
Voice Engineering (Cisco UC/Collaboration)

  • Provision devices, manage dial plans, SIP trunks, and ensure high availability.
  • Manage and support Cistera Voice Recording platform.
  • Oversee certificate management (deploy, renew, secure communications).
  • Monitor infrastructure performance using LogicMonitor, WhatsUp Gold, or equivalent tools.
  • Integrate cloud, on-premises, and hybrid voice systems.
  • Enforce compliance, redundancy, and security standards across all voice platforms.

Firewall & Security Administration
  • Configure, administer, and troubleshoot firewalls (Cisco ASA/FTD, Fortinet FortiGate, Palo Alto, or equivalent).
  • Manage firewall policies, VPNs, NAT, and ACLs to secure enterprise networks.
  • Support segmentation for voice and data traffic, ensuring QoS and secure communications.
  • Conduct regular audits and updates to align with security standards and compliance.
  • Collaborate with security and networking teams to mitigate vulnerabilities and optimize performance.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 10+ years of combined Voice/UC and Firewall/Security administration.
  • Strong expertise in Cisco UC (CUCM, Webex, SIP, Cistera) and Cisco Security (ASA, FTD, ISE).
  • Experience with Fortinet FortiGate or other enterprise firewalls (Palo Alto preferred).
  • Solid understanding of certificate management, encryption, and secure communications.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (LogicMonitor, WhatsUp Gold, SolarWinds, etc.).
  • Proven ability to work across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem voice and security environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and incident response skills across both domains.
