The teacher may be responsible for teaching:
- Exercise Science - concurrent enrollment
- Medical Anatomy and Physiology
- Medical Terminology - concurrent enrollment

Required CertificationRequires one of the following qualification pathways:
- A valid Professional Educator License issued by the Utah State Board of Education with a Secondary or CTE License Area of Concentration with a Medical Anatomy & Physiology or Nursing endorsement and an Exercise Science/Sports Med endorsement. Applicants who currently hold only one of the two required endorsements must commit to obtaining the second endorsement within three (3) years of hire; OR
- A valid Associate Educator License issued by the Utah State Board of Education with a Secondary or CTE License Area of Concentration with a Medical Anatomy & Physiology or Nursing endorsement and an Exercise Science/Sports Med endorsement. Applicants who currently hold only one of the two required endorsements must commit to obtaining the second endorsement within three (3) years of hire; OR
- An equivalent license and applicable endorsements from another state; OR
- Completed coursework in the following areas: 1) human anatomy; 2) human physiology; and medical terminology. - Documented, related, full-time occupational experience with a verifiable active DOPL license in an allied health industry such as nursing, athletic training, physical therapy, or an active EMT certification and documentation of a first aid certification.
Applicants with a master's degree in a health profession field with completion of Anatomy & Physiology coursework with a passing grade of C or better will be given preference.

Successful applicants will:
- Maintain an orderly, safe lab environment following all required safety procedures.
- Teach the core content area(s) outlined in the USBE's Core Curriculum, and adopted by the Board of Education, correlated with other approved learning activities.
- Work closely with concurrent enrollment supervisor to provide a rigorous college experience.
- Implement an instructional program which meets EMR certification and college requirements.
- Work with other Health Science colleagues in the district and from across the state.
- Have a knowledge of current industry standards and certifications related to areas of instruction and ability to support students in gaining skills to pass these certifications.
- Collaborate with industry partners to align classroom instruction with skill needs of employers.
- Work with teachers of many disciplines to promote and improve student achievement.
- Manage a high school learning environment and display exemplary teaching practice.
- Use multiple formal and informal assessments to evaluate student academic progress
- Be able to communicate student academic progress to parents through various formats.
- Be willing to use technology to enhance student engagement.
- Collaborate and work with other professionals in Professional Learning Communities.
- Implement proficiency-based grading
- Be able to build positive working relationships with students, school staff, administration, business partners, parents and the community.
- Maintain an active HOSA career and technical student organization.
- Be willing to complete the requirements to obtain a professional secondary license with an EMT endorsement.
- Maintain a current EMT Instructor Certification.

Job SummaryUnder the direction of the school principal, the classroom teacher is responsible for creating a positive learning environment where students develop the skills to become critical thinkers, problem solvers, lifelong learners and productive citizens. Essential Functions- Maintain a safe, orderly lab environment following all safety procedures.
- Utilize lab equipment to apply concepts found in USBE's CTE Core Curriculum/College Syllabus.
- Maintain and inventory equipment.
- Teach the core content area(s) outlined in the USBE's Core Curriculum, and adopted by the Board of Education, correlated with other approved learning activities.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of the child.
- Utilize effective teaching techniques in translating lesson plans into productive student learning experiences which best utilize the time available for instruction
- Utilize computers and other technological classroom support equipment in student instruction.

Working Environment- Supervision of students requires both indoor and outdoor responsibilities (e.g. recess duty, gymnasium activities, etc.) in all types of weather and air quality.
- Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
Physical DemandsRequires the ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Ability to reach with hands and arms, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects. Ability to talk or hear.
